Just want to let anyone who lives in the Eastern/Liberty and Nott Terrace area know that my car was broken into, we believe, sometime this morning. The window was smashed. It looks like they tried to pry both back seat (drivers and passenger side) windows open and then decided to smash it in. There was nothing of any value. But they may have thought that my bag of laundry detergent and my bag of trash (in there to be taken to the dumpster) were valuables. The police said to not even leave your phone charger in because it makes them think there may be something more valuable such as the phone or a GPS.

This is what DV calls a renaissance, a miracle city.  ROFL.

DV, what have you got to say about all the crime in your precious corrupt downtown?????????

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.

speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

This is a common occurrence all over the City. Never leave coins/phone/electronics out in the open. Someone will smash your window to get it. Unbelievable how many still leave the car running to go into Stewart's. Instead of solving this activity the only proposal from the cheerleading DEMS is more cameras. So what if they are unmonitored?

Meanwhile we have Landslide Savage, Death Ray, and Mayor SOS repeatedly stating there is no crime Downtown! Rapes, slashings, shotgun shootings but no real crime. Even worse those that repeat the lies.

lizettew59  add insult to injury they supposedly have all these high tech cameras up and down Eastern but what good are they.

The Eastern Ave.Corridor is getting worse and worse the thugs more brazen every day,  The police spend most of their time answering domestic violence calls.  They don't have time for doing routine patrols through the neighborhoods and the thugs know it.

Oh by the way in that same neck of the woods check that you have your license plates seems these thugs have a liking for them too.

Lower Eastern Ave is an extension of Hamilton Hill. The worse part is that horrible Mayor SOS and the all DEM rubber stamps have no solution. The 7 year camera plan is a complete flop. There was a camera on State near Bombers-where's the arrest on that shotgun shooting?

It's one thing to have cameras as a part of a anti-crime/anti-gang comprehensive plan. But there is no plan. And the DEM machine keeps poo-pooing the worsening crime stats. Ignoring the problem is not a solution. The Commis should be fired. The Mayor must resign. Most of the City Council should retire. Roger Hull needs to get up to speed on this issue if he is serious about winning and not just being a spoiler.

A friend of mine lives in Bellevue near the Rotterdam town line and her neighbor's vehicle was also broken into early this morning.   The window was smashed and a small make-up bag was taken.   Some gift cards that were in the vehicle were still intact...the crook must not have seen them.

About a month ago, a friend of mine, who lives in Nisky....his wife came home for lunch. Ran in the house for a quick bite and left her purse in her car. When she came out.....purse was gone!

Should she have locked her car doors or brought her purse in with her.....perhaps. But she really didn't think anything would happen in her driveway, in broad daylight, in the middle of the day in Nisky.
