Unpaid taxes may force Schenectady to borrow
Wednesday, December 8, 2010
By Kathleen Moore (Contact)
Gazette Reporter

SCHENECTADY — The city needs to collect $5.1 million in long-unpaid taxes in 2011 or it will be forced to borrow money to get through the end of the year.

To try to make up the difference, the city is turning to a collections agency. But if the agency can’t drum up $5.1 million in old taxes, the city will have to borrow money to pay employees next December, something it hasn’t had to do since it got its finances in order in 2006.

This is what DV's girl Susie says is Schenectady's miracle.   This is what DV calls a renaissance.    This is what DV's dem buddies in crime did to the city letting the scum off the hook for back taxes and instead rewarding them with a quarter million of taxpayer dollars.

Instead of borrowing, the city needs to collect taxes from the rich owners downtown --- they CAN afford to pay their own taxes.

Well, well, well, DV, guaranteed there WILL be a HUGE tax increase for 2012.    Who do you think is going to buy those condos (near a nuclear thing, and sitting on polluted land)  and pay even higher taxes?

a renaissance of supremely laid plans

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Taxes aren't paid either because of the absent slum loards OR people who can't afford the taxes any longer and have just plain old walked away!

And they won't ever collect these back taxes. More pie in the sky from Mayor SOS/McCarthy/finance department. The City budget is a total joke. Everyone knows it was cobbed together and completely unbalanced. A MIA attorney, pension padding scandal, planning commissioner gone but not forget-and the band played on. Working together works!

DV has not responded.  Obviously too embarrassed to realize that Schenectady is not much improved, but getting worse by the day

"Not improved"? The entire City is in free fall with these DEM fiscal incompetents. They can't see a line in the budget for illegal overtime, they pay for 2 City attorneys, they refuse to consolidate planning functions with Metroplex, they shlep trash over to Central NY and refuse to consider a County burn/recycle plant, they refuse to address to exploding crime/gang problems.

There are 4 things up in the City-taxes, crime, unemployment and foreclosures. Everything else is collapsing. The DEM "leadership" is running around like Henny Penny waiting for the next expose in the Times Union. Prediction-much more is coming out about tax deals and giveaways.

And the same fate awaits the Town of Rotterdam.  The tax and spend mentality extends beyond
the city limits.

LALALALAL LALA L ALA LA LA LA LAAAAAAA  everything is wonderful and I am an optimist.

I am sure the brakes will start to work even though the bus is only 100 feet from the cliff and we are going 75MPH, being that we have such WONDERFUL LEADERS who can't say NO.
