The last NNTP bash was a Mallozzi's. Full house. The difference with the DEMS? The NNTP charged! If you want to pack a room with DEMS get out the free cannoli's and open the bar. Take it out of the travel fund.

The Democrats have NOT had an "open bar" at any event that the town committee sponsored in teh past 7 years.
The Democrats charge for the dinner and PAY for the food served at those events.  and we don't have a "travelfund".

ST may be working behind the scenes to unify behind BM and getting rid of the divisions.

ST is not working behind the scenes to unify behind BM and get rid of the division. Only way BM will get the rep endorsement is to primary I can promise you that.

And he will probably win it too.

Thus starting the same cycle that happened last time and giving the supervisors chair to the dems. I have no issues with BM i do however have issues with the NNTP and if some of their money came from RAC last time and if they had state workers working on the election during work hours.

I hope BM does not get the endorsement, I would prefer to make a statement by having him win the primary!  For one and for all, give us a reason to get involved and clean out the garbage on the committee.

Conservative republicans will rally around McGarry, and it will be a nice warm-up for the general election.  Don't worry about the no tax party splitting the vote this time, the Republican suvervisor candidate will also have the no tax line.  You'll see him have every line except the Dem line.

As for blacklantern, you're desperate.  You must still be spinning after backing losers.

Here's a question or more of an observation, why did the state party want to take out local republicans?  (If that's even true). Would it be that they saw corruption and liberal republicans acting so badly that they had to get involved?  Just askin

Certain leaders in the party saw the the NNTP as something they could get behind and get more votes going there way in the future that is why (you get 1500 votes that can make or break an election and the assembly knows that)...if that makes sense that is. Also just ask BM if they had RAC funding and the help of Assembly employees who were supposed to be on the job but instead were collecting signatures. Sure BM may not have known about it at the time but he will tell you he learned of it afetrwards if he wants to be honest.
Listen im all for no new taxes....and know with REMS out of the way what is there to say "Well I am for no new taxes" great so is everybody but Rotterdam taxpayers should take a look at where most of the taxes come from its the County not the Town which rapes the residents in taxes.
I am just saying if they did indeed get RAC help and they plan on doing it again it will come out this time. Plus the NNTP has to get the signatures again to be put back on the ballot and you can be sure those will be gone over with a fine toothed comb this time as well.

They will easily get the signatures.  They have plenty of time, and an army ready to roll up their sleeves and help.

Lantern, I think you are confusing the. GOP primary with the no new tax effort.  It would be understandable if Mertz had support from those he worked with but I don't even think he was helpful with the no tax effort. Seeing as the petitions are available to the public, can you tell us what percentage of signatures were gotten by reps on the state level?
Avon is right.  We didn't really know what was going last election, this time will be different and BM will have way more support.  Then again, we'll know if he has any support tomorrow night, if he's sitting there all alone at his first fundraiser, it will be uphill from there.  Flip side, if it's a success, so early in the election season, he'll be unstoppable.

There are lots of rumors about who may or may not be running for Town Supervisor.   I have heard that
at least 4 persons are interested in the Democratic endorsement.
