looks like the same dirty laundry.... ?

Michael you are and have been a Republican all along.  Brian was not.  That could be the difference for this special meeting.

I didn't say goodbye to you as a Republican and very much wish you would come to the next committee meeting.  As a committe person, I welcome your input.

Mending fences is a good thing and I applaud Tracy's efforts.  We need good, viable candidates.  I'm not sure a show down between Steve and Bob is what the party or this town needs.  Although, it might be entertaining.

What we need is a new face with no axes to grind that can carry the message of conservatism.

There may be a lot of interest and names floating about.  Bottom line it takes fire in the belly and lots of $$.  There may be a lot of good people interested, but if you can't throw in a good chunk of your own money, you may not get the endorsement of the party leadership.  It costs lots of money to run a campaign.

ALL of the NNTP candidates did not take ONE RED CENT from a major party! They ALL did their own fundraisers and campaigning and did so damn well, that there are now third line candidate popping up all over schenectady county. They saw that you don't need a major party endorsement for 'funding' anyway.

Yep and that should make them even more attractive to a major party.  They did it on their own.

First.......MO garnered some impressionable votes from the rotterdam electorate. Not to  mention he won the rotterdam rep primary. Too bad he won't step out again..........he'd probably win. If he didn't, he would have a continued effort in changing the mind set on elections which is clearly so badly needed in all of schenectady county. THERE ARE OTHER CHOICES.

When you compare the existing players to MO, he stands way above them.  The Town deserves what it has because of their backwardness.  NNTP supporters (his friends) told MO if he ever considered running again we would take him out behind the woodshed and kick his A$$.  He doesn't belong in rotterdam politics, he is to high end for that and Rotterdam is just plain to dirty!  Just imagine him on the current Town Board, illegal spot zones, antiquated and irrelevant Comp Plan, lack of civility to the public and even to each other, dissension on important Town matters, a race track that isn't a race track but is a race track, on and on.  We don't want to see him in that environment ever!  As for Brian, it was stated he met with Rep leaders and agreed to work together.  What does this mean?  He will tow the line of the Party?  That is in direct contradiction of the NNTP platform, "Not beholden to anyone"!  I can't imagine MO adopting any other posture.  This is why the Reps lost huge, and why the current Board will also eventually follow suit.  The public is too smart for the politicos to not leave their party agendas at the door, and not serve the needs of the public.   IMO

I think the closed minds are not seeing that many hands make light work. And although all the special interests may back the democraps, interested conservative voters may unify to beat this crew and chase them out of town hall. The last I checked there was not a litmus test on one issue that would allow someone to be a Republican and even conservatives can disagree on some things without being disagreeable.

Unfortunately the REPS still believe in the few hands make heavy work approach. The insane Assembly primary, the rehashing old vendettas, the us against them mentality. Everyone with half a brain is fed up with the working together DEM rubbish. Reach out to the 4 NNTP leaders and all other third party supporters. It should be everyone united against the failed DEMS.

There are NO 4 NNTP Leaders!  Brad is in Saratoga Co. now, Brian is still actively seeking office, Mertz is retired from the political scene, Michael is around and taking it all in.  Let's face it, the bar current ly is so low only an imbecile would throw their hat in the ring.  Who of these 4 could possibly work with what the electorate chose?  NNTP supporters are still scratching their heads over Brian's continued interest in politics.  As long as the electorate keeps going to the polls and blindly pulling a Party line, you will continue to get fed SH!T sandwiches.  This is Rotterdam's creed and mantra, and will likely continue.  Like Bumblethru says, "Poor Bastards"!

Boy you hit this one right on the head. Just when you think it can't get any worse, rotterdam hits and all time low!!! However, many would disagree with some of your assessment. The time is ripe for a total county take over IF everyone plays their cards right.

Let's be honest here.....the reps and dems have both had their day in the sun for decades and schenectady county is worse off now than ever before. People are looking for that 'other choice'. They are sick of 'politics as usual' and the corrupt 'friends and family club' and the 'special interest/union' groups!

The third independent line is the ONLY hope for the taxpayers in schenectady county. GOOD INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES. Not just because their face is new either! They need to be candidates with very strong convictions, a vision, a plan, passion and the desire to 'serve' and not be served! And not beholden to any major party bosses or schemes!

So to your assessment..........if there are no schenectady county candidates who possess these skills and desires, than you are correct.........nothing will ever change. IMHO of course.

We need business people that can budget, plan and do more with less. Not former staffers who answered the phone. Who cares about phony "visions" that have been written by party hacks?

Brad has moved to Saratoga County but after helping Chris Gibson win he has unfinished business here. He knows how to put together a slate and win races. Rumors of the NNTP going large are all over the County Building. With the failed DEMS and liberal Alliance people splitting the stooge vote their is an opportunity for fiscal CONS.

All the NNTP candidates did not take ONE RED CENT from a major party eh? I have to disagree with you fully on that. 3 of the 4 may not have known that they were getting money and help from a major party that one of them worked for but they did indeed get help.

So if the NNTP goes county-wide .. they can move a meeting of ALL party members from the booth at
Burger King to a large venue ... maybe the newly remodeled dinging room at the 5 Corners McDonald's.

In one respect you're right.  The NNTP would hold their meeting at a PRIVATELY OWNED business.  NOT at a publically funded Fire Station like the not for profit REMS and the rest of you Democrat/Copservative apparchik.  It's nice to see there are SOME people out there that still believe in capitalism.

Independent conservative candidates would meet at a private business no matter what their political affiliation.

Boy Ron - you sure know all the elite dining spots in Rotterdam.  There's your favorite McDonald's mentioned again.

I hope Santa brings you all the McRibs you can eat.

The last NNTP bash was a Mallozzi's. Full house. The difference with the DEMS? The NNTP charged! If you want to pack a room with DEMS get out the free cannoli's and open the bar. Take it out of the travel fund.
