The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Where did Maher say that?
I'm glad ...no sad, that you are taking your political cues from a comedian.
and BTW, Maher is nothing more than a Hypocrite when he bashes Beck for being a religious leader to isolate himself from criticism...its the same thing Maher does as a comedian.

Maher is also a coward. He has no problem bashing Christianity but doesn't have the balls to do the same to Islam.

Tbird,
Maher is highly critical of all religion. He calls  himself an apatheist (a pragmatic atheist)   He is on the advisory board member of  The Reason Project.

Maher made the feature film "Religulous"  in 2008.  It's a documentary "that spoofs ALL religious extremism across the world."  His documentary ridiculed Christian as well as Muslim Extremism  alike.

There IS NO TEA PARTY party........it's a tea party MOVEMENT......there are dissenters that dont want to be pinned by Beck OR Palin....once it's pinned
it becomes old stale bread......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

How Convenient! If there is NO TEA PARTY, then there is NO ONE responsible.  If you have racists in your midst, well it's no ones fault, because there is NO TEA PARTY, no leaders,  to denounce them, so racism and hate is accepted.
Republicans and Democrats would denounce and condemn any local party group that tolerated hate... but with their "NO TEA PARTY motto, anything is allowed.
An area Tea Party welcomed speakers from the John Birch Society and they promote the Oath Keepers agenda at their meetings.  Is that part of the TEA PARTY MOVEMENT??? In Fulton/Montgomery County it is!

Have you actually looked into what any of that is?  Do you know what the Oath Keepers stand for?  Do you even know what oath it is they are sworn to keep?

Of course he does... its just that his "types" have been bastardizing the constitution for generations.

~"The FBI and local authorities will be watching closely on April 19, when the Oath Keepers mark their first anniversary and join a Second Amendment March on Washington to celebrate the right to bear arms.  April 19 is also the anniversary of the end of the FBI siege at Waco, Texas, in 1993, as well as the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing."
"Bill O'Reilly interviewed Stewart Rhodes of the Oath Keepers in February. After the interview O'Reilly said to his audience, "We have a system to uphold the Constitution. It is called the judicial branch. The Supreme Court. The Oath Keepers are not the system." Wise words, but it's a sign of disturbing times that O'Reilly felt required to say them.

You're using Newsweek, the liberal rag that recently sold for a dollar, and Bill O'Reilly, a person I doubt you agree much with.. AS SOURCES??? Desperate times, I guess.

I'm glad to see Obama has come around and is extending Bush's tax policy.  I never realized how much liberals HATE seeing successful people keep their money.  The fact that they are soooo angry about not being able to take more of peoples money if frightening.

For Tbird,  the Left is out and no using the Right...  that kind of covers all posts.

For everyone except Tbird, read what the FBI says about the OathKeepers and similar groups.  The TeaParty is open to infiltration from these subversive groups, as happening now in the Fulton/Montgomery TeaParty.

They hate rich, successful people... ones that aren't DNC contributors.
Now, they are all in a tizzy over the estate tax, that it is ONLY at 35%.
Tell me how an estate tax is NOT double taxation?

Would the Black Panthers be considered a "similar group".

I have always enjoyed a good tea party ...  the best one that I ever attended was at the Broadmoor Hotel
in Colorado Springs, CO ... of course, my hope is to someday attend a tea party in London UK.

exactly.. I want my reporting with NO bias.
Box, have the Oathkeepers committed any crimes yet?
It's nice how the FBI is wasting its time watching groups that haven't done anything criminal while at the same time ignoring groups that have.. you can fill in the blanks.
