SCHENECTADY -- A city man was arrested Friday after he allegedly tried to rob the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 109 State St.

Andrew J. Evans, 42, pointed what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun at an employee and demanded money, police say. It was not clear if he got away with any money.

Evans was arrested after the city's animal control officer, Cindy Bialobzeski, identified him a few streets away using the description given to police. Evans was allegedly in possession of the weapon used in the crime, which turned out to be a pellet gun.

Evans was charged with attempt to commit robbery in the second degree, a felony; menacing in the second degree, a misdemeanor; and resisting arrest, also a misdemeanor.

Evans was arraigned on the charges with sent to county jail.

Well, DV, what do you say about this one?

By the way, DV, everyone else on this board is still waiting for you to provide ANY SHRED of proof to support your claim that the FBI says that crime is down in Schenectady.

Why do you refuse to provide the proof?

You refuse because it doesn't exist.

Now, everyone, watch DV give somekind of nothing answer.   Oh, he'll say "it does exist and I know it" but he will still refuse to provide the proof.  And then he'll just tell us to go to h***.

Sad that he NEVER provides any proof of what he says.  On the other hand, we, who tell the truth, provide links to official sources.

Crime is up and violent crimes are way up in the City. This is according to FBI statistics not Metrograft/DEM happy drivel. This is the second major crime at that KFC, which is one of the few businesses open, below Erie Blvd. Last year there was a horrible knife attack-which occurred before NOON.

Death Ray/Mercury Morris have repeatedly stated that there is no violent crime Downtown. One of the many lies that the Gazetto dutifully publishes without comment. Despite $100 million in County sales tax largess Downtown remains unsafe and City Hall DEMS are too busy with ongoing scandals to formulate anything. More "working together" by looking in unison in the opposite direction.

About two weeks ago, I pulled into that parking lot to answer a call on my phone.  While I sat there talking, a man pulled up in a car in the back part of the lot and about 5 others soon joined him at the car.  I knew what was happening.  It was obvious.  They dont bother to hide it anymore.  After he left, I looked around at the pretty painted empty buildings and thought how sad it is to spend all that money so the dealers can do their jobs in style.

Keeping track of all the violent crime and criminals is a full time job. We need a new thread to post the hourly crimes and corruption news from SS Savage's little miracle.

The only miracle is that these idiots keep getting re-elected. Gemini got is right-big phony facades with nothing going on behind them. It looks like a neutron bomb hit lower State St-but don't fret Death Ray and Mayor SOS gots new plans!

Its true.  Everything looks so nice but there is nothing there.  If you drive through, you dont really get a chance to stop and look at what is really happening.  I googled Schenectady Crime Statistics and I got a ton of links to various sites that compare Schenectady to other cities crime rates.  Most of them were for NYC.  They broke it down to specific crimes too.  And the numbers here are much higher than NYC.  Its no surprise.  When people are looking to move to other cities or they have a job change, they look at these sites to compare and see what is there.  I personally wouldnt want to live somewhere where the crime is higher than one of the largest cities in the country.  Ive watched videos on You Tube.  Ive checked out other websites on Schenectady.  Some people "claim" its a great place and full of history.  Yes, the history part is true.  But Ive lost any hope for the city.  Its really sad.

Why dont the people that think its so great live down in the city?  Thats the part that I dont get.  Sit out on your porch at night and watch what really happens there.  Personally, I wouldnt be caught there at night.  Its not safe.  And this includes the whole city.  Not just down town.  Even Bellevue is turning into a high crime area.  Dont tell me Im wrong.  I lived there for 10+ years.  I moved out because of the crime.  I was sick and tired of my car getting broke into and the drug dealers and the sex offenders.  Yes, sex offenders living right near the schools and on streets with a lot of kids.  How lovely.  You can look them up on the Family Watchdog website.  It will even tell you what they did and how old the child was.  These are your neighbors and they work where you work and shop where you shop.  And when you say something about it, they get their feathers all ruffled up about how you are invading on their rights.

You dont want to know how many criminals are regestered on that site that live down town.  Yep, better place to live and its so great and much improved.  They have beautiful houses to live in that the city and welfare pays for.  Wonderful place for them.  Not for the real people though.

My elderly aunt was at a stop light on brandywine ave, during the day, on her way to a doctors visit. While she was stopped, a guy came up to her car asking for $$$$ ! She is elderly and was scared he would hurt her (although there was no obvious threat of that),so she gave him $$$.....like 5 bucks. This was about 1 month ago.

The biggest cheer leaders SS Savage and Death Ray live in Nisky. Mercury Morris just fled the Stockade for Rotterdam. Gazetto editors reside in Saratoga County. Sheeple that have to pay City taxes aren't so impressed.
