SCHENECTADY -- Police and school officials are investigating an attack on a Mont Pleasant Middle School girl that was videotaped and posted on Facebook.
The attack happened sometime last week off school grounds and involved an unknown number of students. Police were contacted, said Schenectady school district spokeswoman Karen Corona.
Mont Pleasant Middle School Principal Michael Bush subsequently learned the fight was recorded and posted on the Internet social networking site. About 30 students visited the Facebook page, and many commented on the posting that they wanted to see the student hurt again in school, Corona said....................>>>>...............>>>>......................http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Attack-video-of-Schenectady-middle-schooler-825913.php
SCHENECTADY -- A case of bullying at the Mont Pleasant Middle School has become so intolerable that both the school and Schenectady Police have gotten involved.
CBS 6 was tipped off Saturday by a concerned parent over a child being bullied repeatedly. CBS 6 learned the middle schooler was attacked by a group of bullies in a wooded area of Schenectady. The incident was filmed by a fellow student and then posted on Faceook in order to taunt and torment the victim, according to the parent.
The school says more than 30 students logged on to that page and began encouraging the bullies to hurt the student again in school.
Schenectady Police confirmed the incident Tuesday, Nov. 23, saying an estimated 15 to 20 juveniles had gathered at Hillhurst Park in the city's Bellevue neighborhood on November 1 to bully the 13-year-old.
As a result of the initial police investigation, two juveniles were referred to Schenectady County Probation, according to Schenectady Police spokesperson Sgt. A. Linyear.
All names are being withheld because of their ages.
The school principal also decided to intervene.
The latest development happened Monday when the school called a meeting of the parents whose children are believed to be involved.
"We met with parents in an educational setting to inform them of what their child has been doing, and how to correct that," explained principal Michael Bush. "Certainly here at Mont Pleasant, we take a proactive role and squash bullying taking place."
"The response we got from the parent... was that they were appalled," continued Bush. "They didn't know, and they were appalled by what their child was doing."
The school says the victim is being home-schooled for her safety. The Schenectady Police Department confirmed it is investigating.
The incident happened on a Tuesday and the school doesn't do anything until the following Monday (oh, coincidentally AFTER channel 6 gets tipped off?!). The principal said that he takes a proactive role toward bullying? Well, maybe he meant a procrastinating one.
And THIS is what DV says people are going to flock to Schenectady for
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
Perhaps Savage can take these kids on a nice walk down her 'miracle mile'. Perhaps she can teach them how to start a business on the taxpayer's dime and not pay a penny in taxes when they graduate. Perhaps she can show them how to purchase a nice home, in a nice, safe neighborhood, OUT of schenectady county....and do it all on the taxpayers buck!!
OR......she can just walk them down to the dss building where they have another way of living off of the taxpayers!!!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Schenectady is in a "renaissance" as per a regular board poster. Of course, no comment by Savage's biggest cheerleader
