Waffle House rules! They should move in where that horrible pizza place is on Altamont Avenue. The nearest Waffle House is in Southern Pa. A bit far for waffles and a fried Steak.

Here is my beef with them: they don't use real butter as a cost saving measure- they use margarine. That POs me big time.

All I can say is...poor Freundlich's...I think its time has come and gone. People want to go to a more fake corporate place for food with their kids- Applebums, Ruby Pukesday, TGIFed, and all of those places. A quaint soda-fountain's time is too far removed in the past for this newer generation. It was a place our parents took us because it was the closest thing to a modernized Soda-Jerk type of place like in the 1920-50s...The concept is dated, I guess.

It is a place I went on dates when I was 17 years old in the early 80s. But its time has come and working on razor thin margins doesn't it allow to stay in 'high-property tax vs. average check' locations and still turn a profit.

Where is it?  I'm confused how I never heard of it.  Of course I'm older than you by a bit so maybe it was after my time!!!

Freundlich = Friendly in German.

Applebums, Ruby Pukesday, TGIFed = self explanatory. Sorry, my friends and I have had codewords for all these places since I was little. You know - Burger Thing, Taco Hell etc

Must be an out of date list.  Last I knew, the "Burger Thing" had been re-nicknamed "Booger Fling."  'Aybe that was a '90's thing.  Then, there was also Pizza $lut,
