Police search for suspect in Sunoco Mart robbery

NISKAYUNA, N.Y. -- Niskayuna police are looking for the man who robbed the Sunoco Mart on State Street in Niskayuna Monday night.

Police said the armed man walked into the store around 8 p.m. and demanded money. The suspect then took off with an unknown amount of cash.

Police said he was running on Albany Street toward Schenectady.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

Police probing gas
station robbery

    NISKAYUNA — A gas station in Niskayuna was robbed at gunpoint Monday night, police said.
    A clerk at the Sunoco Mart, 3522 State St., told police a man entered the store at about 8 p.m. and displayed what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.
    The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall and 175 pounds. He is described as wearing a short-sleeved white or light-colored T-shirt, jeans and had what appeared to be a stocking over his face.
    He made off with an undetermined amount of cash and was last seen running on Albany Street toward downtown.
    No one was injured in the robbery, police said.
    Authorities asked anyone with information about the incident to contact the Niskayuna Police Department at 374-3159.
