Are there any local business owners here that would be interested in sponsoring my 7 yr old daughter for her
competitive dance team? The children were asked to find at least one local sponsor. We will be putting all the
sponsors on the back of the kids tee shirts that they will wear to all competitions as well as the parents! (Great Advertising!) I'm having a hard time finding a business to sponsor her, so I thought I would ask here. (please forgive me if this is to "spam-like") Anyway, the cost is $100 per sponsor. If anyone is interested or knows
someone that would be interested, please let me know! Thanks!

Have a bottle drive. Hit up Grandpa. Sell magazines. Give blood.

BUT this is not the place to grub money for your "kid's" dance team. Yea right.

Is your daugher a registered Democrat?  Maybe the County Democrats can find a way to get Metroplex to fund the dance competition - all in the name of economic development of course.

This is done everyday! Parents go door to door to small businesses to help raise funds for some event or another. Although I think the bottle drive is also a good idea. How much does she need...total? It just may be an unreasonable goal....I don't know.

I also think that things have gotten out of control for costs for some of these events that kids want to join. My nephew was in traveling hockey and my niece was in soccer........OMG!!!! THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! Not to mention the traveling!!!

KD.....I would suggest you go door to door to all small businesses. EVERYONE else does!! Just make sure it's legit and you have the proper paperwork for verification! Good luck!

Small businesses are struggling with record taxes and fees. Peeper has this right. Back in the day, we raked leaves, cut grass, had paper drives and bake sales. Now everyone wants to shake a tin cup.

Put on a paid performance of the dancers. Charge $20 a seat. Then you can hit up Grandma and Uncle Billy. I'm sure Proctor's, which refuses to pay any taxes, would open its doors for you. If you need a smaller venue contact the other tax dead beat-Union College.

You forgot Delgallo Pools.  He should have some money freeing up after he gets his million dollar estate assessment reduced to $250K.

Sounds like a great idea - but the only way to do get the sponsors will be to go to as many
businesses as you can and ask.

Wow. Tough crowd.

KD - I'd suggest checking @ Bagels and Bakes , Vincy's Printing - and get ahold of the new Recovery Sports Bar (owned by BBL Hospitality - (518) 640-6476).

Good luck!

PS: If you call BBL, ask for Ken Waldie

Thank you everyone for the great suggestions! I have called a few of the suggested places. I mean no harm. My
daughter is collecting bottles and has been "earning" money from friends and family. Each child was asked to get at least one local sponsor. I don't have family or friends that own businesses and a lot of the kids on the team already have at least one sponsor. I'm just looking for some ideas or interest. I apologize if anyone thought
I was just asking for money with nothing in return. It would be for advertising on the shirts the kids wear to the competitions. Again, I didn't mean to offend or sound ungrateful. I certainly understand that it is a lot of money to ask for from "strangers". If your not interested that's ok! I just thought maybe there would be some interested people on here, it would be nice to have a local dance studio team do really well at competitions and get some national attention with the support of the community.

Rotterdam PBA would be a good place to look also.  The Chief has some extra money to throw around, seeing how he managed to work in a raise in the face of the greatest economic recession since the Great Depression.

Giv'em a call.
