Did anyone offer you a job? just curious.

While I was not offered a job, I also am not a registered EMT, nor have I ever been.  I have spoke to one of their operations people about a possible job, both previous to and after the meeting the other night.  I still don't know what might come out of it, but I would have 2 reasons for taking the job:
1.  I need to increase my income.
2.  I would like to work for them, especially if there's going to be a taxing district in the hopes that my history working for an insurance company would make me more able to increase the amount of money brought in from the insurance company, hence maximizing that return, attempting to reduce or eliminate the amount needed from taxpayers, should it be decided / necessary.

The offer of a job would A. not be contingent on the way that I vote, nor would it be B. a way for them to possibly influence me in one way or another.

I spoke to him after the meeting at SSFD, when he did confirm that he is for the taxing district.

To accurately portray his full position though, it must be pointed out that he is a/the attorney that REMS has working for them, and that he was sitting at the table with REMS at the meeting last night.

is this in regards to Salamone??????

I would say not, as my vote does not determine what happens.  It has no effect.  If I said that I would vote for it only if they offered me a job, then you might have a case.

You must admit..........it is a hell of an incentive!

Have you reached out to mohawk? I'm sure they will need additional personnel if they get the contract in rotterdam.

Wow Kevin - you really stepped in it this time.

I'm really surprised at you for making those comments, and don't quite have the same level of respect for your opinions any longer.

Hey BT--I always stand ready to forgive...might I remind you that it would be necessary for you to want it.  Once again popmpous and arrogant because this Dem Hack ALLOWED your Reps/and Cons (most of them anyway) to put signs on my property for the election.  As I look at it, that pretty much denotes where I am mentally on that whole learning experience of seven years ago.  So I did more for your Rep party than you have done in two years. In fact I am a whole lot smarter on this board about the Reps than you hacks.  You /all certainly seem to be missing a collective wisdom and an impractical vision.

And btw BT, Carolina Lazzari has more class in her little toe than you have in your whole body.

Are you actually taking credit for what you have done for the rep party??
Perhaps that is their problem!

And I wouldn't boast too loudly about being 'smarter' about the reps..........there's not much to know! A 2 year old could boast the same!

But I do agree with you about Carolina!!

You can try to twist my words any which way you like, but you don't know my motivation.  Do you know why it is that I would like to work for them?  Maybe it's so I can bring my expertise in working with an insurance company to their office?  When I would bring that expertise to them, then I would be doing my best to get the most money possible from the insurance company for the services that are provided.

My reason for thinking this is that if there can be enough money coming in from the insurance company, then REMS would not need the same funding from the taxpayers, reducing the amount requested in future years.  I would hope to continue over time to reduce the amount needed to the point where the taxing district could be eliminated, or a "bill" could be sent out showing that things have been improved enough that there is no cost through the taxing district for the residents.

I, in no way, stated that if there is a taxing district it would increase my chances at a job.  I stated that if there was one, I would like to work for them to REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF THE TAX COLLECTED, just look at the portion of what I bolded, stating this exact portion of my statement.

As far as being involved in a lawsuit against the town with the current REMS lawyer, that is indeed a fact, but a lawsuit that went nowhere and was canceled after the town did not follow through with the issue, ending any cost that may go on the taxpayers.  As far as the former REMS lawyer, I don't even know who you're talking about, unless you mean Mr. Parisi.  I didn't (and still don't) know that he did work for them, and it was not a condition of my decisions in that action.  What happened as far as that lawsuit was that 3 of the town board members, including the Supervisor broke the law with an illegal meeting and the lawsuit was valid, and will be valid again if they, in the future at any time, decide to reapproach that issue.  It's called holding your elected officials accountable.  You might want to try it every once in a while.

Well, MT, I think you know me better than that.  If not, then I guess you think of me what you will.  Please read my last post as far as a clarification of the spin that was put on my previous post.  I'm starting to think that littlesal works for the People's Gazette.  Mr. Lamendola?

Kevin, rems had previously stated that they have their billing system down pat! They clearly should not need your 'expertise' or anyone else for that matter.

May I also say that IF rems does STILL need  your 'expertise', than that would be an obvious NO VOTE! Not to mention their already mountain of debt! Wouldn't you agree?

my point was that you were/are close to these people

the only way to impove income for rems would be to increase the call volume!  which i hope doesnt ever happen.  This town has only so many people and only so many accidents/ heart attacks happen per year.  mohawk/rems/and tracy all agree that ALS services will average about $150 grand per year in revenue to the town.  that will never change dramatically.  However what the rep chair misses is that the tax district will rise and creep up slowly year after year just like everyother other tax.  a new ambulance with all the bells and whistles costs well over $200,000!  They have  a fleet of 4! and two locations to maintain, with a possible 500,000 in debt.  so her ridiculous letter makes no sense!  I support tax because they will provide town with $150 grand, but the election is being handled bad, and it will only be 10c per 1,000 which will be made up by what they bill for als.  HAAHAAHAAHAAAA  with out the subsidy they will have to start to replace that 120,000 then account for a new ambulance, pay there shiny new lawyer, gas, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc,

I need a god dam drink!

billing efficiency and following up with people that havent paid: sure that will help a little and i comend you for wanting to help.  but they actually promoted soft billing as a positive for rems.
