Surprised they didn't publish the new Bombers fights in the Gazetto-ROTFLMAO!!. They are too busy cheering on the tax free Key Hall and new $300,000 ceiling at Proctor's. Several gang fights? Shh...don't say anything. Follow Mayor "for life" SOS and the clapping seals on pathetic City Council and cut vital police and fire.

Crane St is gone. Mayor SOS and Death Ray killed it by moving Marcella's downtown. It is county development policy to kill all City Business Districts. But don't fret, some moron here will talk to Mayor SOS about it.

Oh, so then you think the taxes should be raised even more, in order to keep the police, etc.

My statements are UNDISPUTABLE FACTS, not lies.

It is an UNDISPUTABLE FACT that tens, probably in excess of 100 MILLION of OUR TAX DOLLARS has gone into the couple blocks of downtown
It is an UNDISPUTABLE FACT that the rich, politically connected businesses and developers --- the FOR PROFIT business -- are largely exempt from paying property taxes.
It is an UNDISPUTABLE FACT that as the rich are absolved from paying taxes, that the lower income Schenetady residents are being forced to cover the cost for the rich that don't pay.
It is an UNDISPUTABLE FACT that as the taxes are increaed on the lower income people of the city, that the people are having necessary services cut.
It is an UNDISPUTABLE FACT that as necessary services are cut from the areas where people live, that more tax dollars are going to downtown.
It is an UNDISPUTABLE FACT that as more tax money has been poured into downtown, that crime has gone up in the neighborhoods
It is an UNDISPUTABLE FACT that as more money is poured into downtown, that people are leaving the city in droves, that the vacancy rate is way above anything that is accetable.
It is an UNDISPUTABLE FACT that the money poured into downtown has resulted in Schenectady getting worse.

By the way, DV, the people on Soc Sec for the second year in a row will NOT be getting an increase.    But they will be forced to pay a HUGE tax increase on their own property IN ADDITION to paying a brand new tax, and IN ADDITION to paying the taxes of the rich politically connected downtown, IN ADDITION to covering the amount of the tax increase on the rich politically connected downtown.     NOW, DV, explain HOW do YOU justify making the low income people pay all these tax increases while the rich politically connected are exempt!

mc1....You just can't make this stuff up!! These ARE the facts and you have done a great job of posting them!!! It's too bad that the people/taxpayers of schenectady county will never read about it in the liberal socialist news media.

Hummm....Bombers could move, save thousands in taxes, avoid curb fees and relocate to a safer location...I don't see them staying long. Oh wait....then someone like DVOR will swoop in, give them a tax break from $22K to $2.00. The big businesses in Schenectady know how to stay in Schenectady, they use blackmail. They stay only if they don't have to pay taxes.

Thank you Metroplex, you've single handedly made Schenectady a tax evaders paradise!

I don't have to justify decisions that I did NOT make nor am personally responsible for.  You are pretty
insistent on making up stuff you think I believe  ... so I am ending any conversation with you ... you can

Thank you Mayor SOS, all DEM rubber stamps aka {City Council} and SS Savage for fighting the growing County gang problem!

How so? By ignoring it. By looking the other way. By pretending it doesn't exist. The incompetence is not limited to fiscal and urban planning issues.

Ending the conversation, huh.  Because you cannot dispute the truths I have written.

YOU are the one who claimed that Schenectady is MUCH improved.   Yet, you have not once, NOT ONCE provided any proof of it.  I have asked countless times how you claim the increase in crime amounts to a much improved city.  You fail to dispute that UNDISPUTABLE FACT, yet you claim that making the taxpayer pay all this stuff downtown has resulted in a much improved city.   I ask you how the HUGE increase in the percent of vacant houses amount so a much improved city.  You refuse to address that, but continue to claim that Schenecady is MUCH improved thanks to the taxpayer footing the bill.  I state how while we pay higher taxes, we are getting less and less service and you have not been able to dispute my facts while claiming the city is much improved.

I have cited at least a dozen facts proving how much worse the city is and you are totally speechless.  You know these points about increased crime, increased taxes, reduction in services, increase in abandoned homes, etc are all UNDISPUTABLE FACTS, but you refuse to admit YOUR WORDS that "Schenectady is MUCH improved" are totally wrong.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

MC1 can go to the "Frustrated Hamster Club" and argue his/her points to anyone who cares to converse
with him/her.
I am choosing to follow President Coolidge's advice and not arguing with an ignorant person.

the 'incompetent hamster club' aka county leg/city council, will just roll their eyes, push papers around, over talk mc1, if s/he ever brought these points to their attention. I've seen that happen with my own eyes!!! They OBVIOUSLY and TOTALLY disregard the electorate!!

Ya know....it's that 'working together thing'!
