And btw you have one senior from Rotterdam who is receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award this year. He was nominated by the FORMER director who the Reps wanted out. Yeah she is still doing the work for Rotterdam seniors despite the fact that she now directs more than 2,000 seniors in Albany.
BT--few seniors are going to Glenville. The problem is even fewer are going to Rotterdam. Rotterdams Assoc is dwindling in numbers. Under John D there was no outreach to the "junior" seniors. The problem with your senior population now is many are quite frail to participate. You also don't have a real director in the center. There are MANY happenings in other towns that benefit seniors. Unfortunately the Reps in Rotterdam did everything they could to kill off interest in the center. Thank Tomassone for that and Mertz.
No "real director" ? I thought Diane Marco was heading that up?
Diane Marco is one hell of a nice person, a hard worker and a great public servant.
The Regressives and Nattering Nabobs of Negativity only wish they had 1/10 of 1,000 % of the class and intelligence that Diane has.

DM 'use' to be a nice person until she entered the political arena in rotterdam. Now, she is just like the rest of the liberal socialists!

I don't know who this boomer is .. and I stand by my statements about Diane Marco.
As I am a pragmatic, middle of the road Democrat and not a "liberal socialist" ... I really could care less what the liberal socialists have or don't have. For all I care the extremist Regressives and the Socialists can form a big circle and shoot each other ... and leave the world a better place for those of us in the center who just want sanity back in our community and our nation.

Boomer has tremendous respect for Diane Marco. In fact Diane would make a great Supervisor for the Town. The seniors in the town now need a new level of attention. Trips are nice but now they need someone who will take that trip money and roll it into some other transportation help. We have many seniors that are eligible for Food Stamps and need an advocate to help them access that entitlement. Our seniors are about 82 as an average age. They need to be aware of many options if they choose to age in place. Eisep money is drying up in Schdy County. Rotterdam seniors now need home visits and assessment for home safety. The town can keep changing leadership but the town needs to begin to meet the needs of senior citizens.
Diane Marco could eat you up and spit you out. We saw her do it to John Mertz.
I don't know who Boomer is .. and frankly I was just stating my personal opinion of Diane Marco ... don't know what all the fuss is about.

and it doesn't matter if you're 82,62,42,22 etc.........we need a bigger and better plan......foundations need to be built..... so the bastions of commerce can operate.......
the seniors know this.........
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
DVR-absolutely correct. Diane Marco is a terrific person WHO SHOULD BE IN TOWN HALL. The town can benefit from her expertise and experience. As a board member she was ALWAYS willing to respond to the needs of the seniors BUT on a different level. Her forte is not working in the trenches. She is a better partner on the policy end of things. JD was always "babysitting" seniors. They dont' want that. They want and need leadership. Rotterdam seniors suffer because no one has the connections to make Rotterdam a livable community for seniors so that they can age in place.
