Candidates disregard
laws governing road signs

It is that time of the year again, when political campaign signs pop up along the major state highways and local roads.
I believe these signs are required to have the property owner’s permission and be located within that owner’s property. Most of these signs are in the roadway right-of-way, or in the roadway islands, at intersections that have a grass island. At some intersections, they are overwhelming. I see them along roads in front of state offi ce buildings and other public properties. These campaign signs are for candidates running for Congress, state (from governor on down) and local offi ces.
What bothers me the most are the people running for various judgeships. These people are running for the offices that are to enforce and uphold the laws and local ordinances that control the placement of these signs — the very laws and ordinances they have a flagrant disregard for by putting their campaign signs in the highway right-of-way.
I will find it very difficult to vote for any of these candidates.
