Rahm Emanuel Out, Pete Rouse In - But Don't Expect Much to Change at the White House

Now that Rahm Emanuel is being replaced by Pete Rouse there are two big questions.

First, what does it mean for the White House?

My guess: not much is going to change. Yes, they are dramatically different personalities. Emanuel is a manic, foul-mouthed, high-profile bundle of energy. About the only thing they have in common is that both are workaholics. Rouse is calm, some say even shy, and prefers to work behind the scenes. There's no reason to believe the Chief of Staff job is going to change that.............>>>>.................>>>>..............http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20018253-503544.html?tag=contentMain;contentBody

I don't think Emanuel was that effective as Chief of Staff.    Personally, I think he got sacked by
Obama BEFORE the Election because he was a liability for Obama when dealing with many of the
moderate Democrats in Congress.     He added nothing of value to the administration and caused too
much tension within the Democratic majority.
And - should the "tea leaves" be correct and the GOP retakes the House and the Senate .. this new
Chief of Staff sounds like he will be more level headed, less arrogant, less antagonistic --- and may
actually help build bridges rather than burn them (like Emanuel did).

DVR--Emmanuel did a fine job.  Little arrogant maybe, but took care of business.

Emanuel oversaw the "circus-like" handling of the health care debate.
Emanuel oversaw the impotent Federal response to the Gulf Oil Spill crisis.
Emanuel oversaw our ridiculous involvement in the Copenhagen enviromental conference that proved
to be a miserable failure.
Emanuel oversaw our president taking vacations every other weekend this summer while the same
president was telling the rest of Americans to stay home and conserve energy and our environment.

I could go on .. but those are the top 4 failures of Emanuel and the Obama administration.
