what kind of glue do you sniff?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

I am focusing my efforts on Rotterdam .. I can't save the whole world this week.

Translation: The DEM working together crew doesn't care about DVOR our any neighborhood,

The only concern is for the Arts and Drunk District Downtown. So what if the City is broke and will have to raise record taxes again? All they care about is that the taxpayer supported coffee house and gin mill is still open for apres Proctor's. Then they can take their Benz back to Rozendale.

The metroplex was designed to create new jobs and promised to lower taxes! Well, there are no new jobs, unless you want to count the 'relocations' from end end of the county to the other and the gin mills.

As far as the golub freezer and railex............those moves would have been accomplished WITHOUT the metroplex! Galesi is more than qualified to handle their own private expansions. Oh thats right.....galesi is also a recipient of the taxpayer's dollars.

The golub freezer was originally located in colonie. Golubs plan was to bring it to rotterdam. Not because rotterdam is soooooo great. Solely due to the fact that the golubs wanted all of their distribution centers located in ONE area!! And railex worked hand and hand with golubs.

Ya can't count Edgewood either............that is just a 5 block relocation in the same town!

So in the mean time..........schenectady county has accomplished only one thing............being one of the highest taxed counties in the country.....thanks in part to good old Susan Savage!!! Just read some of her campaign mailers...........they are a LIE!!

You think Savage's mailers are lies???  Wow do you remember the crap that came out of Mertz and his NNTP folks.  Total BS and in this case the folks knew it and shut them down.  Most of you on here have or want a political life, unlike me who could care less.  You REALLY shouldn't throw stones--especially in writing.

Rotterdam is a much better place since John Metz left the Town Board.

Actually, the area in which Metroplex dollars can be spent is limited by the legislation that created the
entity.    Of course, Schenectady is more than downtown.

OK, acknowledged that the plex money is limited.  Fine, it cannot be spent on a playground in the city, it cannot be spent to make the Union Triangle look nice, etc.

BUt, after the millions upon millions, WHAT even small things has it done to the city OUTSIDE OF DOWNTOWN !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rememember, that money that metroplex receives does NOT come from the businesses downtown.  It is OUR TAX DOLLARS that funds metroplex.  Sure, we might buy a burrito at Bombers but tell us, DVOR, tell us, when WE PAY TAXES in downtown, tell us HOW, tell us HOW it has helped the city?????

Sure, the whole thing is going to take time, but tell us dVOR, I DEFY you, I DOUBLE DEFY you to tell us what SMALL things have resulted OUTSIDE OF DOWNTOWN --in the city's NEIGHBORHOODS where people live, work, play, socialize, go to church and school.   Tell what has improved.

DVOR, you say that change comes a little at a time.  Sure, I can agree, but tell us how many centuries we have to wait?  Now, if the crime rate in the city dropped a percent or two each year, then I'd say, sure, change is occurring.  If the vacancy rate of housing in the city was going down every other year.  If the city playgrounds and parks were being kept up better, then sure, it would be a truthful statement to say that change for the better is occurring.  If the city was going after the big time tax delinquents and slumlords, forcing them to pay up and clean up, then I'd say chance was occurring.  If children could sit on their front porch and play, I'd say change is occurring.  If people could start walking two blocks to church or the corner store, then it would be a true statement to say change is occurring.  If either city services stayed the same with taxes going down, or if taxes stayed the same with services increasing, then, yes, it would be true to say change is occurring.

SO, tell us DVOR, what things are changing in the city.  What "little" changes for the better are occurring?  Again, answer those ten questions.   Can you answer those questions showing that things are getting for the residents of the city as opposed to the millionaires downtown?

Actually, the area in which Metroplex dollars can be spent is limited by the legislation that created the
entity.    Of course, Schenectady is more than downtown.     But metroplex dollars can not be spent in
ALL parts of the county  ... I know that it can be spent along  Routes 5 and Routes 7 within the County ..
and I would have to check the legislation .. but there are other areas included ... and there are also other
areas which were excluded from the "metroplex zone".

And it is obvious that Metroplex has made major improvements in Downtown Schenectady ... and it has
brought a few major improvements to Rotterdam .. the Golub Freezer and Rail Ex project at the Corporate
Park ..  Recovery Room and a new bank going up on Rte 7 and Altamont ---

No one denies that city, the towns, and the county as a whole have a long way to go before we can declare
"Mission Accomplished"   ... but with Metroplex, Ray Gillen, Susan Savage and the whole County Leg, and
the elected  executives and boards/councils of the local towns and villages  WORKING TOGETHER  we will
make it work.

DVOR. what are you smoking?   What NEW bank is going up??????????   Huh?   Can you tell us the definition of the word "new"??????

Explain HOW you claim Rotterdam is gettiing better when an EXISTING bank is moving a FEW blocks away????????

Explain HOW the a new empty place from the move of an EXISTING bank is an improvement for the town?

Explain HOW a second empty place IN THE SAME PLAZA, immintently, from the EXIT of the wonderful Scarborough's restaurant, totally leaving Rotterdam, is a good thing?

And tell us how the vacancy of another business IN THE SAME PLAZA - when CVS left, along with yet another vacancy from the CVS on Hamburg St is good?

The ice cream place across from the senior citizens center is now empty.

And tell us DVOR, uh, can you tell us about the former Grand Union?   What's going on with that vacant poperty with overgrown weeds?   Well?

So, YOU write about Recovery.....oh, so YOUR definition of improvement in a town or in a city is the opening of a new gin mill, right?????????

Can you tell us, DVOR, how many of those high paid employees at DOT and that state Quality Care agency have moved into the city?????   Can you tell us?   Go ahead, prove that things are getting better.  Go to the websites of those agencies, look up the names of the heads of their office groupings, and look up where those people live and tell us how the college educated are just moving to the city in big numbers.  Can you do that?

The bank next to the Recovery Room is a different bank from the one going in at the old Edgewood
Restaurant.

My definition of improvement is the FACT that SOMETHING new is being built to replace a 50 year old
vacant eyesore.   It is NOT a "gin mill" but a restaurant with a bar.

Instead of whining and complaining, why don't you get off your duff and get involved in something
positive and productive for the town.

Yeah...Like getting involved by kissing some a** so you can land a $32K a year patronage job.

Get with the program, this is Rotterdam.  Get involved, gather up your family and friends, take over a political party, run for town office, if you win, hire all your relatives to work at Town Hall, then make zoning changes for your friends and contributers, and get your dead relatives property noterized for STAR exemptions by the Town Clerk(wink-wink).  Then go and get your property assessment reduced.

That's the problem with mikechristine1, he/she looks at the WHOLE COUNTY objectively.  He/She needs to get on the inside and understand how great everything is when you're one of the connected.

Everything is great for some people.

I'm not accusing you of any of those things.  It's the sad reality of Rotterdam and Rotterdam politics.
