and Schenectady is MUCH improved in the past 10 years.
Obviously YOUR definition of "Schenectady" is totally different than anyone else.
It is obvious that YOUR definition of Schenectady is that small area that comprises the area called downtown. But to 99% of the people, Schenecctady is it's neighborhoods....where people live, where children go to school, where people go to church, where people socialize with their neighbors, where children play in the parks and playgrounds.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Actually, the area in which Metroplex dollars can be spent is limited by the legislation that created the entity. Of course, Schenectady is more than downtown. But metroplex dollars can not be spent in ALL parts of the county ... I know that it can be spent along Routes 5 and Routes 7 within the County .. and I would have to check the legislation .. but there are other areas included ... and there are also other areas which were excluded from the "metroplex zone".
And it is obvious that Metroplex has made major improvements in Downtown Schenectady ... and it has brought a few major improvements to Rotterdam .. the Golub Freezer and Rail Ex project at the Corporate Park .. Recovery Room and a new bank going up on Rte 7 and Altamont ---
No one denies that city, the towns, and the county as a whole have a long way to go before we can declare "Mission Accomplished" ... but with Metroplex, Ray Gillen, Susan Savage and the whole County Leg, and the elected executives and boards/councils of the local towns and villages WORKING TOGETHER we will make it work.

Yeah, and it's such a success in an area that is 4/10ths of a mile that the powers that be decided that they could not extend any help to people that are literally on the next block outside of the Erie Boulevard to Nott Terrace ends of State Street. I know this, as I have personally spoke to people who have a business on the next block east, at Hermies. It's too far outside their zone. It's been in business for years, but can they get any help, even though they are mandated to collect the tax? No.

I wouldn't be opposed to having the County Legislature ask the State Legislature to amend the Metroplex legislation so that the funds could be spent ANYWHERE in the County .. not just in the limited corridors provided by the legislation.
Since Mr. Farley claims credit for creating the legislation which established Metroplex --- any complaints about the inability to spend Metroplex dollars on Erie Blvd --- SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO HUGH FARLEY not to Mr. Stratton nor Ms. Savage.

See, when it's bad, blame someone else, notably Republicans. Even though the dems have had control of M'plex for 8 out of 10 years.

If people ask Mr. Stratton or Ms. Savage, then THEY SHOULD DIRECT THE QUESTION TO HUGH FARLEY, GEORGE AMEDORE, or at the beginning of the life of the Metroplex, PAUL TONKO. Where's the stimulus that Schenectady should have got from all the money that is flowing out of the printing presses in Washington D.C.? Nobody has a problem with all of the not-so-stimulating stimulus, but if we have to pay for it, where's our share? Farley and Tonko were there at the beginning of the Metroplex allowing it at the state level and Amedore has continued the horrible growth of this government program that needs to be canceled.

Mobile -- please stop eating the lead paint chips .... I will type this SLOWLY .. so you will understand ... the legislation which created Metroplex .. was written and approved by the State Legislature .. Mr. Farley claims that he authored the legislation. So .. logically .. IF the legislation did NOT include Erie Blvd or other parts of the County ... blame the man who claims that he wrote the legislation ... don't blame Mr. Stratton, Ms. Savage or Mr. Gillen who have to live with the legilsation as Mr Farley wrote it .. and the State Legislature passed it.

Now, how's Mt. Pleasant doing? How about Bellevue?
Yeah .. that is why I am glad our property is zoned industrial ... we can build almost anything here.

What a crock, if the democraps want to change anything all they need to do is pass a resolution to get the legislature to do it. They have 13/15 seats at the county, both house and the govs mansion. Stop lying Ron Severson, it is not becoming.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
Which doesn't answer the question, Now, how's Mt. Pleasant doing? How about Bellevue?
I am focusing my efforts on Rotterdam .. I can't save the whole world this week.
