The Rotterdam Town Board approved a resolution for Chazen Companies to prepare a request for proposal for the development of the Curry Road Shopping Center Plaza at its regular meeting Wednesday, Feb. 14. The town is going to pay Chazen Companies up to $4,500 to complete the proposal.

Godlewski said Clough, Harbour & Associates did a similar study on the property three years ago and came back with four different scenarios to develop the site for town purposes. He said the cost of each was between $8 million and $15 million, which the previous administration thought was too high. Godlewski said the current administration hasn’t looked at that study.

“Why would you want spend another $4,500 when we’re facing a reval. We’re spending money we don’t have to spend,” Godlewski said.

Santabarbara sure knows how public and private sector need to cooperate.  By using his IDA Chairmanship to grease the company he works for with $4500 of taxpayer money for a study that was done 3 years earlier.  Even fellow Democrat Bob Godlewski thought it was an unneccesary expense to the town.  NOT FOR ANGELO AND CREW THOUGH - THAT WAS MONEY WELL SPENT.  I'm sure if you look up campaign contribution to Angelo or the Democrat Party from Chazen, that money has come full circle.

One thing Angelo has proven, he is successful at spending your tax money.  We don't need that in Albany.

The only spending is on Amedore's part, over $90,000 in mailers worth of taxpayer dollars

And how did he profit off of that?  Infoming people in his district what he stands for on the issues isn't as bad as using your IDA Chairmanship to help your employer secure contrats with the Town for unneccessary studies on the taxpayers dime.  Who is Angelo looking out for?  History tells us - HIMSELF!

At the time, I was confident that the town would never back a taxing district. The board had obtained a highly critical audit of REMS for the nine-month period ended that Sept. 30, 2008 and, given the fi duciary responsibility of the town to supervise REMS financial management over 2009, it would be obvious that trusting REMS to tax and manage taxpayer funds independently would be a mistake.
Instead, the town ordered Chazen Company, an engineering fi rm, to map, plan and report on an ambulance service district, and now plans to establish this month, by simple majority vote of the town board, a permanent taxing entity that can only be dissolved by townwide referendum.     At best, the Chazen report glosses over REMS history of fi scal mismanagement and enormous debt; at worst, it completely disregards issues identified in the audit.

Yes, Parisi and Angelo, both behind the formation of the REMS taxing district, with help from a favorable study provided by the engineering firm Angelo works for.  WOW - Go figure.  At the time, fellow Republican Carolina Lazzari characterizes the study as - "Glosses over REMS history of fiscal mismanagement and enormous debt"

Now it is clear to see how that public private sector cooperation works.  Working together to screw taxpayers by skewing the facts.

Santabarbara donated his IDA salary to student scholarships...That REALLLLLLY sounds like someone trying to take advantage of his office. How much work does Chazen do for municipalities? I'd imagine a lot so I'm sure this is more about them being the best for the job rather than angelo's connections

Was the Town contract with Chazen no-bid contracts, or were they bid out and Chazen won?

You're telling me that Angelo was a County Legislator, IDA Chairperson, Worked FULL TIME at Chazen, and took care of his family and special needs child?  Did Chazen give Angelo time off to persue his political aspirations for maybe some benefits in the futue?  Who knows?  Or Angelo is Superman.

Angelo is an extremely hard working man, one who does everything for his family.. For you to even bring up his special needs son, just shows HOW LOW YOU ARE!! Angelo, not only gave up his salary for scholarships, all profits from the SB Cheese is donated to local charities!!  Angelo is extremely dedicated to his family and his 2 children! I have seen this first hand, when I see Angelo out with his family.

Someone that works the hours he does, attends as many events, and is there for the community as much as he is, is the PERSON I
WANT WORKING FOR ME IN ALBANY!!  This to me and alot of other supporters, shows character, dedication, leadership and compassion!

Bring up his special needs son? HE BRINGS HIS SPECIAL NEEDS SON INTO POLITICS!!!  How the hell else would EVERYBODY KNOW?  Because he politicized his own son.  It's plastered on his web page.  There is no question that he's on a personal crusade.

Who's lower - the person that politicizes their kids, or the person that reminds everybody a politician is politicizing their kids.  You make the call.

I support the cause, I just don't agree with his choice to use it politically.  Why doesn't he donate his salary and cheese money to an Autism foundation?
