What was Tonko doing kowtowing to socialists?

Re Carl Strock’s July 27 column on the United National Peace Conference (UNPC) in Albany, “Socialists? Meet some real ones.” He said one of the many groups stood for “the overthrow of capitalism and the establishment of a socialist government” while another was “fi ghting for socialism, where all the wealth of the world belongs to the people.” When Strock asked one attendee if he was a socialist, he answered “I’m a communist.”
Strock obviously spent a signifi cant amount of time at the conference. It surprised me that he did not mention that our congressman, Paul Tonko, gave the welcoming speech at this conference. In his speech, which was warmly received by the attendees, Mr. Tonko expressed respect for their intellect and congratulated them for their advocacy. He bragged about voting to cut off funding for our troops.
I think Mr. Tonko should explain why he chose to support and praise these radical activists and wish them future success. He certainly wasn’t acting on behalf of his constituents when he did.

Send Tonko into retirement we don't need any more of his tax and spend bills.

I can't even begin to imagine what the reason was that Tonko attended this event. To garner votes or because he believes in the socialist, communist ideology? It's got to be one or the other!

I wouldn't think he thought that insecure in winning that he felt he had to attend this obviously questionable event.....ESPECIALLY since the mood of the american people feel the country is moving way to the socialist far left.

This comes as no surprise to me...Tonko knows that conservatives will command this election and that he has never had their
support...and now even the so called "moderates" and other former admirers are increasingly voicing their distaste with him and
his support of the Obama/Pelosi/Reid agenda. The only possible support he seems to be retaining is that of the far left...they would
be thrilled with his voting record.

This comes as no surprise. Tonko also endorsed extreme radical DEM Schniderman for AG. Schniderman wants Rev Al Sharpton to have an office INSIDE the Attorney General's office.

I wonder if ANG, Mayor SOS or SS Savage have endorsed Schniderman yet? Have you seen the many Taxin Tonko signs that are all over Montgomery County?
