Savage way over the top with revitalization boast

Politicians usually have a lot of nerve but [county Legislature Chairwoman] Susan Savage single-handedly taking credit for Schenectady’s revitalization represents the most unmitigated gall that would even make [Sen.] Chuck Schumer blush.
How dare she take credit for the work of hundreds, if not thousands, of us who are here every day, making sure that the right things happen? Although I am not registered to any party, I would like to remind Ms. Savage that it was indeed [Sen.] Hugh Farley who made sure that the legislation establishing Metroplex was ushered through the state Senate. At a time when Metroplex was being presented to the county Legislature, there were many who were opposed to it. It took an outcry from this community to change minds.
If any one person deserves credit, it is [Golub Corp. CEO] Neil Golub. Remember Schenectady 2000? Mr. Golub took the leadership role necessary when our impotent politicians were pointing fingers at each other. Now Ms. Savage is letting us all believe that this whole turnaround was her idea!
It is true that the city looks and feels a lot different today than it did just fi ve years ago. For this single politician to take credit for the enormous strides we have accomplished as a community is appalling. How soon we forget.

It is ludicrous to say that Susan Savage is trying to take all the credit.   She has constantly
spoken on the theme of "working together works"  -- and by definition .. in order to work
TOGETHER .. you need at least 2 persons -- if not many more persons.  Susan Savage has
always acknowledged the contributions of the many others who made "working together work".
Hugh Farley will bring a state check to a local non-for-profit .. and then try to claim credit and
make it sound like it was HIS money .. when in fact it is OUR taxpayer dollars.
I sense in the attacks on Susan Savage a strong hint of sexism -- the fact is that she is an
effective leader -- the fact is that she has brought people together to work forpositive change -- and some on the "other side" are intimidated and jealous because she has been so
successful in her efforts.

Let's not forget through this conversation that Mr. Lawrence and Lennon's Irish Shop are recipients of our money through the Metroplex.  I guess that wasn't important enough to put in there under his name.

She's an "effective leader"-lol. For who? Connected developers? She may do the absolute impossible. Organize REPS, CONS, DEMS, WTF and IND under a big tent of hatred for her. These voters don't agree on anything else. This could have gone DEM if they ran Holly or a businessman from another County.

This is over. Savage will not win any County. Farley in a final landslide. Put down the kool-aid even lifelong DEMS are laughing at Savage and this horrible campaign. Savage for what?

The people who vote for Farley - are the ones who have been "drinking the kool aid" for too
long.    Throw out the RepubliCAN'T  and put in a woman who has proven that she can lead
and accomplish good things for her community.

Despite the protests of the Perpetual Negativity Choir and the RepubliCAN'TS  -- the fact is that
Susan Savage has done a lot to boast about.    Her leadership on the Schenectady County
Legislature has been a refreshing change from the past.    Rather than saying "we can't do it" -- Ms. Savage has said  "lets roll up our sleeves, work together, and see what we CAN do"
to make our county, our municipalities, and our neighborhoods better places to live and do
business in.     That is EXACTLY the approach that we need in the State Senate -  a leader with
passion and vision and a willingness - and proven track record - of working as part of a team
to solve the problems confronting us.

No, the issue is you pose no challenge!  Any drooling imbecile with millions upon millions of dollars available through Metrograft, and the State decision to move government offices into the cities to help shore them up is bound to eventually show some improvement.  To say she was the architect of these plans is disingenuous at best.  Additionally, no one really knows how much money was wasted, ie. The Big House fiasco.  Wasn't there a shooting last week in front of Bombers?  That's right across the street from the crown jewel, Proctors!

This post is further proof that you can't make a rational argument on your own behalf without
stooping to insults.
you are free to believe that a 34 year veteran of the State Senate who has DONE NOTHING  - has
sat idly as the 3rd or 4th ranking member of the GOP majority for years and DID NOTHING to change or address the dysfunction in Albany - while collecting multiple state paycecks  (from SUNYA and the State Senate) will somehow  chnage his stripes at his advanced age and become a bold thinker
and passionate reformer.
I am not betting on that happening ... that is why I am voting for real change in Albany .. i am
voting for Susan Savage for State Senate

Shhhh... don't mention the Big Hose, or Van Dyke I/II, or Robinson's Retail Mecca {aka Savage's Big Ditch}. We must parrot the party line "Savage is a leader"! A tin eared moron that has dumped $100 million in our sales tax revenues into a black hole-creating zero jobs. Then proclaiming "It is good"! How's it look on Crane St?-lol.

Anyone that still thinks Savage is a "leader" should re-read the scathing State Metrograft audit which is still up on this site. Not one of the many corrupt practices has been addressed.

Anyone who thinks that Hugh Farley has been a leader has their head up their butt.Double Dipping from the state taxpayers for 34 years.   Tens of thousands of dollars in extra
pay for being a high ranking member of the CORRUPT  RepubliCAN'T run State Senate .. and he
has accomplished absolutely NOTHING for his constituents ... he has done NOTHING to stand up
against the dystfunctual leadership of HIS party while they controlled the State Senate.
