No I'm afraid the current administration will rig the election by scheduling it at the most inconvenient time and have the ballot at ONE location, and have no absentee ballots.  If you put the referendum for a taxing district on the November 2nd ballot, it would get destroyed.

SCORE !!

And by the way, that's why FDG failed to keep the rest of his publicly stated promise...which was to hold the vote on
Election Day in November...the Dough Boy conveniently left out that little detail.

Oh DVOR explained that somewhere - some nonsense about it not being legal to put a referendum on a general ballot.  -cough-BULL CRAP-cough.  He REALLY needs to stop drinking from the community kook-aid container

I have a degree in Political Science .. thank you very much.

The tax district was first proposed by the previous administration --- and you know that is a fact.

Many residents support REMS and support the tax district .. we will see on December 14 if it is a
majority or not.

Your statements about REMS not desiring to balance their books or operate without a large
contribution of tax dollars ---- are both bold faced lies.
IMHO -- You don't want a public referendum because you are afraid that YOUR position is the
minority position and that YOUR view will be defeated at the referendum .... so of course you
are proposing a Stalinst-type decision .... that is implement YOUR view regardless of what the
majority wants.

The tax district was first proposed to the Paolino administration...you're the one confused Ron. We don't want a referendum
because the tax itself is unnecessary, rendering the vote unnecessary as well...and the only thing to be afraid of is that the
majority will be suppressed with the very sorts of manipulation already in progress...because a huge majority would reject
this scam, especially given all of the facts and options...and the interested parties know it.

Gee that's funny...I know I've seen many referendums on General Election ballots over the years...and it would be easier now more
than ever with the new paper ballots. All they would have to do is print three ballots and provide the list of property owners sorted
by election districts, just as they do with all voters. Those appearing on both the voter roll and property tax roll get a ballot that
includes the referendum...those who appear only on the voter roll get a ballot without the question...and those who appear only on
the tax roll get a ballot containing only the referendum.

I noticed in the budget that the chief of police gets a decent raise.....good for him!! But does anyone know exactly how many hours he 'works' and what he does?

No one even knows where he is most of the time...but it isn't at the police station.

As per his contract, he has no minimum hours required...and he is supposed to be evaluated...yet there are no guidelines for
these "evaluations",  or any criteria whatsoever...Tommasone somehow managed to skip that part, I guess.

I thought so too - but, but, but "he" works in the Town Clerks Office and "he" is doing the doggie park planning, so "he" must be right, eh?  No, I didn't think so either.  Just another attempt to disenfranchise voters and keep the handicapped / housebound / tax payers away from the polls.

The State Legislature can put items on the general election ballot for a statewide vote.

School districts can put referendums on the ballot when they have school district votes each year in May.

A referendum on a charter issue --- such as length of terms of office for a municipal official -- can be
placed on a general election ballot.

BUT ----- referendums to create a special tax district CAN NOT be placed on the general election ballot.
That IS the law ... sorry to disapoint  KR and her deluded friends who think otherwise.

As I have said before, I have absolutely no respect or use for Kelly Rhinesmith -- she is one of only 2
people that we have ever had to throw off our property.   Nothing comes out of her mouth except the
incoherent rantings of an UNIFORMED and highly DELUSIONAL person.

You can pad the walls at Town Hall, God knows it's filled with dull objects.

If it weren't for KR, rotterdamians would still be in the dark about what REALLY is going on. And THAT is what DVR and the rest of the democons don't like!!! Good job KR!!!

Wrong again BT--I'm a Democrat and I think she is great....wrong on most of the issues that concern me of course, but a great person and correct if it weren't for her lots of folks wouldn't know what is going on and LOTS of candidates and former candidates would have had NO shot without her.  People beg her to help with their campaigns and then treat her like $hit later.  Why because they are users...clearly the case of the NNTP losers. (losers as in they lost their bid)
