Apparently now we use how much a person shows up and spends at church events as a gold standard? How does that fit with your scripture, DVOR?

Since I never said anything about setting a standard,  I don't really have to respond to your query.

Just because one resident doesn't feel the need  .. or thinks it is just a frivolous want on the other
person's part ... DOES NOT mean that it is not a REAL NEED to other residents.

Oh....I feel the needs of the elderly EVERY DAY......I see it, I help it, I move it, I feed it, I talk to it etc etc.......and saying 'it' does not mean I am referring to the elder, just the need
.........NO ONE on this board has a clue...........

the receding from life as we once knew it.....ISN'T easy.....and NEVER will be.......but to run the town as a nursing home without regard to the foundation needing to be built to support
those who would require it is ridiculous......the aging population had a chance as building their foundation stronger....it was done.....now----they have what they have.......and I'm
SURE the next generation will leave something out too and they will have what they have.......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

I cared for my mother in her final years of illness and am presently caring for elderly family members -- so I can understand where you are coming from.
Not quite sure what you mean by "run the town as a nursing home" -- I am sure you are making a
good point just wish you would clarify it.

we cant just go around town making programs that we (they technically) didn't invest enough into the town for......we need to build a footing with
poles then the tent fabric can go up.....until then we cant afford the 'town nursing home'.......we have to make a BIGGER investment in our
infrastructure.....we CANT wait for the next generation to deal with it.....the dollar stores just dont cut it........

I agree .. before we start a program  ... we should make sure that we can support and sustain it.
While I don't believe in just throwing around money, I do believe that IF we are going to do something
a program or a project ... it is better to plan well and don't  try to "cut corners" to save a buck or two.

My maternal grandfather, who loved to build things and garden,  would tell me often .. that the
preparation work is often more important than the work itself  (I may be badly paraphrasing) ...
but the jist is if you don't prepare well .. the finished product won't last long.   He also had another
saying about  applying cow manure liberally before planting a garden.

...yeah this gang has a LOT of cow manure to throw around!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

The only problem with the "manure" posted by the regressives on this blog ... is that it is too negative and
kills off anything before it has a chance to grow.

I agree....those nasty negative regressives.....how dare that they want to know exactly where and to who their tax dollars are going. And how dare those nasty negative regressives for questioning and not buying everything that comes down the pike.
How dare those damn regressives, huh?

Questioning where your tax dollars doesn't make you a regressive -- being negative and nasty does.

unfortunately or fortunately that's how visceral it is out here.....honestly.....and then there's the bunch that just gave up because they're beat down to hell for the weight of the
government and are now well trained to cry to the government to ask for more, when in doing so they increase their own bondage.......

negative?-----nah,,,,just F'EN pissed off at the lack of Personal responsibility/ability being used because it's discouraged.....the progressives like to make one THINK one is an
individual and special,,,,yet removes one's power to stand alone(wouldn't want that) and then proceeds to talk about sitting around the campfire singing cumbaya and the sorts....

For the record, I have never considered Senders to be a Regressive or a Nattering Nayboob of Negativity.
I actually enjoy your posts and the "mostly polite" back and forth discussion of issues that you engage in.

I really do make a concerted effort to be polite......and the only reason that sometimes I am not polite is because the exclamation points aren't big
enough and I dont really want it loud.....just visceral

It is always easy to "armchair quarterback" any situation -- the police have a tough job ... and the
job of police chief is no "walk in the park".    If the naysayers think these jobs are so easy  .. they
should volunteer their time to do them.

in rotterdam it must be the manure
