Rasmussen: Cuomo leads Paladino by 16 points

It's a magic number that's sure to haunt Andrew Cuomo, but the Democratic gubernatorial hopeful is leading Carl Paladino by just 16 points, a new Rasmussen poll released today shows.

The poll you site (Rasmussen Reports) also has an "Election 2010 Gubernatorial Scorecard", that shows states either:
Solid Dem - Lean Dem - Toss-Up - Lean GOP - Solid GOP

Rasmussen lists New York State to be:
"Solid Dem" for Cuomo.

I THOUGHT YOU DIDN'T TRUST HIS GOP SLANTED POLLS, BOX?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Rasmussen leans Right but depending on who commissioned the poll and how the questions were asked they are as reliable as most.

So far there has been little focus on Cuomo, mainly because the Conservative candidates have been fighting each other to win the Conservative and the Republican party nominations.
The real campaign for Gov of NY has really just begun.
Paladino got a bump from winning the republican primary...
I think we can all agree that was to be expected, for either candidate, weather it was Paladino or Lazio who won.

A month ago Cuomo was leading at least 2-1 (or more) ... so a 16 point lead is a HUGE drop off.
Frankly, I think he may have overestimated his popularity early on .. convinced he would win in a
landslide like Elliot Spitzer.   And he may have underestimated voter outrage and Mr. Paladino's ability
to play to that outrage.    I still think Cuomo is the better person for the job -- but one must be careful
not to be planning for the transition BEFORE one has actually won the election.
