Yeah, and I found it amazing that this was announced the night before primaries where the head of the county legislature was running on a write-in ballot to try to take away the conservative line from a long time seat holder.  Usually, we don't get this news until after the November elections, when it's too late.  Notice how much of the savings they're spending?  That's because that's previously paid taxes, possibly more in previously paid taxes than the amount that's getting reduced now.

They will do what they always do lower the tax a little and hit us with a few new fees nothing will change unless they can do the right thing , cut spending.

Guess this campaign ploy didn't help Susan Savage, huh??

     The whole corrupt house of cards is ready to fall. Savage just lost her first race for the CONS line. She and ANG will be huge losers in November. Then it will get interesting. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Sorry to burst the balloon of you "conspiracy theorists"/"perpetual negativity choir" but the
reason that the budget with thetax cut was announced Monday -- is that BY LAW -- the proposed budget must be introduced/unveiled in September before the September County Legislature meeting.

But I guess the  same "conspiracy theorists"/"perpetual negativity choir" would be attacking
Ms. Savage for "hiding something" or not doing her job properly IF she had waited until after
the Primary to unveil the budget.    You just can't win with the "perpetual negativity choir".

How about the reality choir? How much is budgeted for the new County Home?-lol- This is a total farce. A third of one percent reduction with more spending. Everyone what half a brain is laughing at her.

     SS Savage has no support with CONS and the real shocker is how many DEM committee people are supporting Sen Farley. A landslide for Sen Farley. Getting her out of the County Building is not enough reason to inflict her on the whole State.

And let's also remember that this 9 MILLION DOLLARS is tax money that is already paid, so add this to the amount of taxes that are going to be collected and compare THAT number to last years and tell me if it's higher or lower, even by 0.3%.  It's not called being part of the "perpetual negativity choir."  It's called being realistic.

Personally, I don't think I would have said anything about it being used in the election if it wasn't announced the day before the election, but I can't really tell you since that's the way it happened.  I will STILL tell you that we should be seeing much more savings that this little drop in the bucket.  This isn't even really a drop in the bucket.  This is more akin to the sweat on the outside of the bucket.

...and let me add this question, when the budget is up for a vote and the 2 Republicans that are left on the board request to add a couple items to help to cut taxes, will they be listened to, or like usual, be summarily dismissed before they even have a chance to fully speak them?

Frankly, I respect her judgement (Ms. Savage) more than I respect your judgement on
fiscal and other matters.

These whole thread is a farce to promote Savage's failed State Senate candidacy. There is no tax cut. There is no spending cut. They are taking money out of reserves to mask their fiscal incompetence.

     Where's the funds for the new County Home? Where's the funds for the unnecessary eyesore library addition? Savage is a Nancy Pelosi liberal who is trying to ride into higher office on anti-incumbent sentiment. The DEMS will soon return to minority status in the State Senate. That's where they permanently belong. The last thing we need is another phony voting with NYC liberals all the time.

You are confusing moving Rotterdam and Mound Pleasant businesses Downtown with bringing in any new businesses. SS Savage is the most unpopular politician in the County. She constantly lies about job creation. She is making a fool of herself with this stunad State Senate campaign. She has to bring in illegal aliens to work for her.

     As far as working together works what about Stratton's $13 million deficit? Are you calculating the $2 million Stratton will illegally withhold from the County? What about the new nursing home Savage? County and City DEMS are in open warfare. The County GOP has completely imploded stop dragging them into the mess you created. Your problem is that DEMS are fed up with the arrogance, the failure to inform DEM legislators, the moronic press releases.

DVOR taxes aren't level just ask anyone who has property in the city and they'll tell you that their property taxes are thru the roof because of the fuzzy math that the assessor used to reval their property. The Dems started using fees when they got close to the Constitutional limit on how much tax they could levy and if taxes were so level Schenectady County wouldn't be in the top 10 of the highest taxed counties in the country.

Susan Savage and the democratic party has done nothing more than rape the taxpayers, relocate businesses at the taxpayer's expense, created patronage jobs with life benefits, the selected few got their hands greased and is taking credit for creating 3500 jobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
