  After reviewing acknowledgments of God from all 50 state constitutions, one is faced with the prospect that maybe, Obama, the ACLU and the out-of-control federal courts are wrong!

I find it amusing that Obama and the rest of the historical revisionists erase the fact this nation was founded on Christian principles. Federal funds WERE used for the building of churches in the first few years of our Country.

Well now Saudi Arabia is building mosques here instead!!!

When you read "GOD" you assume Christian.... why???  Because it's your god?  States who refer to "god" are encompassing ALL GODS not only the Christian GOD.

What Keeps the USA from being a "Christian Nation" is the same thing that gives you the right to bear arms... The US Constitution.  Strange how Conservatives will honor the constitution when it fits their agenda, and ignore it when it's inconvenient.

No one mentioned separation of church and state, but that term describes some of what is guaranteed in the 1st amendment.

No one owns "God" and most certainly the clergy don't. I share Jefferson's suspicions of the clergy. They are the biggest socialists, big-government, whats-in-it-for-my-church crowd there ever was. However, I am certain we were founded on Judeo-Christian tenets, and the evidence abounds without a doubt. Establishment of a preferred state-sponsored church is certainly prohibited and people have the right to practice as they choose, and they also have the right to not be persecuted (as Christians are by the Christophobes in the political class) in the manner that Box and most mainstream and radical socialists (formerly democraps) like to harass them. Of course I imagine we will see islam be the official cult of the left wing and government soon anyway. Right here in the county legislature and city hall we have Imams preaching the opening prayer quite often, so you know that with a few more electoral victories by the socialists, freedom of religion will end and islam will be elevated. It is quite clear, that with only 1% of the population, they have close to 50% of the political muscle. That emanates from the political correctness that is inculcated in the young, lending itself to the principal of "you can't kiss their asses hard enough to make them pleased."

So get down on your knees and kiss that muzzie butt some more, you obviously like it.

GB-you should go to bed earlier instead of blogging.  Why an't an Imam do an opening prayer in the Legislature?  Or a rabbi or a priest or a minister or a NUN!  I am taking people to visit the Mosque tonight--people far older than you who WANT to see a mosque.  We also will break fast for Ramadan with that community.  It's about education....so you don't have to react in such a vile way.  Learn the culture before you denigrate it.  And I don't mean just learn about the extremists in their midst.  Learn about the real people.

Interestingly - Thomas Jefferson spoke of the "wall of separation" .. yet as President (and at that time the US President had control of public schools in DC)  he ordered that all students in the District's schools read  the Chirstian Bible in school.   Jefferson  attended religious services EVERY Sunday in the US Capitol building -- those weekly services continued in the Capitol Building well into the 1850's.

BTW -  99% of the population of the US in 1800 was Christian -- I don't think that anyone back then would have said that we were NOT a Christian nation.   We were then .. we still are .. and we can continue to have BOTH a strong Christian presence (all the denominations) and be a nation that allows Muslims, Jews, and others to practice their faith as they choose.
