ALTAMONT -- A Delmar man was driving around an Altamont Fairgrounds parking lot Friday sporting a loaded rifle, according to State Police.
Troopers and Altamont village police responded to a fight in progress at the fairgrounds and on arrival were told by witnesses that one of the people involved was driving around parking lot number five with a gun. Police found the vehicle and say they observed Michael D. Dascoli. 18, holding a loaded 9mm High Point carbine equipped with a laser sight and with two fully loaded spare magazines. Dascoli was charged with possessing a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle, arriagned in Village of Altamont Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail.
That's too bad. The altamont fair has always been a great family affair! The people there work very hard to pull it together every year.I'm sure it was an isolated incident....I hope!! There are crazies everywhere!
