DUANESBURG -- State Police are investigating why a Schenectady County Sheriff's deputy struck and injured a 60-year-old motorcyclist on Route 7 early Tuesday.

The deputy, Omar W. Quiernan, 36, was on duty and driving east in a marked patrol car when he crossed over the road's center line and struck the westbound motorcyclist, Anthony J. Deangelo of Delanson at 1:55 a.m., State Police in Princetown said Tuesday.

Deangelo was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to investigate the collision.

Hope he's OK......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
