Again, I ask the question that was not answered yesterday, how many of these businesses were here pre- 9/11?

When you think of 9/11, Mcdonalds, strip clubs, or OTB's don't come to mind. Muslim extremists do.
All the rest is just a poor diversion.

I wonder how the Jews would feel if Poland allowed a German heritage Museum to be set up right outside the gates of Auschwitz

Well, I guess if it is "legal" then you don't need to take into consideration the insensitivity of the action.  The Jews would obviously be considered bigots for voicing opposition to the idea of German heritage museum, Nazi heritage and all built next to Auschwitz.

Then the libs would take pictures of a Polish distillery that has been there 100 years prior to the Holocaust to justify it.

When I think of 9/11 I DON'T THINK OF MUSLIM EXTREMISTS...
I think of AlQaeda TERRORISTS!

I see a terrorist, not a religion... If they were Christian AlQaeda,  I'd look at them the same... apparently you wouldn't.

AlQueda terrorists commit terrorism in the name of Islam, why can't you say it?
Your omission doesn't change the FACT.
David Koresh was committing crimes in the name of his version of Christianity..I have no problem saying it.

If everything else about the 9/11 attacks were the same... except the religion of the terrorists, how would anything about it be different.

Twist Christianity to get someone to join AlQaeda, or twist Islam... what difference does it make?

We aren't at war with a religion, we are at war with terrorists.  Muslim or Christian motivated terrorists make very little difference to those who died on Sept 11... and should make very little difference to us.

If the planes that hit the WTC were full of Christian terrorist, there would be no talk about banning a Christian church at the Mosque site, and you know it.

This issue is motivated by the November elections and very little else.

We are at war with an extreme faction of a religion, whether you want to admit it or not.
The imam of this proposed Mosque has a murky past at best.
If Christian extremists killed 3000 people in your model of tolerance Indonesia, and a Christian group wanted to build a church two blocks from the death site, you're telling me the majority Muslim population wouldn't object? come on...

November elections? LOL.. the Dems have enough things going against them this November.
I don't think Harry Reid will lose his Air Force jet, but I'll bet you Pelosi will...

Nobody's talking about "banning" the Mosque.  People are making a plea to move the location from the proposed site out of respect for the 9-11 victims.  Just like when people plea to keep a Wal-mart out of their town.  They don't like what Wal-mart represents, or the impact it will have on the community.  Do people have the right to voice opposition to Wal-mart building in their town?  Or are property rights ignored in such a case?

The 1st Amendment...
Walmart isn't in it... Religion is.

They've met every code and regulation to build their mosque in NYC.  They are building their house of worship where the congregation live and pray... where else?

What is the name of that Extreme Faction of a Religion???
You keep posting Muslims... yet even you'll admit that most Muslims are NOT terrorists.
The terrorists are AlQaeda... if today they suddenly changed religions, they would still be just as dangerous to America.

Other than a tool to help  apprehend AlQaeda, their religion is irrelevant.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

I would expect after they exercise their 1st amendments rights, the opponents of the Mosque will picket the place on frequent basis.

Let's not live in fantasyland, they won't change religions, lets deal with what is

Extreme Islam is what I would call it
True, most are not. But they are also mostly silent in their objection of Al Queda.
And further than that, several Mosques in the US have been money-trailed directly to Al Queda.

As Jon Stewart pointed out...

So if you are a property owner and your property is zoned to fit a proposed Wal-mart, and Wal-mart offers you hundreds of thousands of dollars for your land, can the town people protest the Wal-mart preventing it from buying your land, and you lose hundreds of thousands?  Or are property rights reserved for religious buildings?  Mob rule when it comes to big business.

This is true...
BTW, Stewart is going to have to change up his material a bit after election day.
