So you begrudge people that make money? BLAH BLAH BLAH! And you begrudge where it is spent? BLAH BLAH BLAH!
Gee, sole proprietor Lucarelli sold Belveue Builders for hurdreds of millions of dollars to Stock Building Supply.  Do you begrudge a local businessman for making that type of profit for his hard work?  From what I understand he didn't go over seas, he reinvested locally. BLAH BLAH BLAH!

You paint with quite a broad brush Box.  The democrat buzz words have you brainwashed.

You must really hate Bill Clinton, HE'S RESPONSIBLE FOR NAFTA - HE'S A FREE TRADER!

JFK was one of the biggest post WWII tax cutter. Do you hate him as much a Bush?

Communist Obama is YOUR GUY!  Government controlled business is your solution.  Because govenment knows best.BLAH BLAH BLAH!

I swear... you start to type and your fingers go into some kind of Right Wing Nut spasm... and incoherent words just seem to appear.

Where to begin?
Lucarelli? I remember when he was up and coming... he did well.  Unless you are insinuating that he is a tax cheat... why would I have a problem with him.
Do I hate Bill Clinton? NO.
Clinton, Carter, Reagan, Daddy Bush,Ford... I think they were all in favor of NAFTA... but what does that have to do with this subject?
Govt Controlled Business???
With the choice of GM going bankrupt with the loss of millions of jobs, or a bailout... Obama followed many previous presidents and helped GM.  They will pay back the money and the country saved an even worse Bush Economic Meltdown.

So tell me... when you get upset, to Conservative phrases just appear on your screen, or is someone helping you with talking points?

How is it at the expense of the rest of us?  The chart you showed in an earlier post showed that everybody received a tax cut under Bush.  And overall tax revenue went up.  Doesn't that mean more money for social programs, schools, police, firefighters, etc?  If tax cuts for the "rich" reduced overall tax revenue, and made the tax rates on the rest go up, then I might agree, but the facts tell a different story.  I don't understand your economic theory.

Just sounds like a deep seeded hatred toward achievers of all stripes.  Class warfare rhetoric has that affect on those ignorant of fact.

No, YOU said you don't know a rich man that didn't own a judge, senator, mayor, or congressman.  I think, Lucarelli is a rich man, but I admire him and his success, unlike you.(REFERENCE BELOW)

You complain about investing over seas.  NAFTA is the antithisis of American protectionism, the policy you seem to be championing.  I would think Clinton's support of NAFTA would go against your Marxist ideology.

You talk as if GM was bailed out with no strings attached government money.  The GM bailout was unprecedented.

No...Conservative phrases don't just appear, and I have no talking points.  Just smart enough to recognize empty political rhetoric.  From ALL politicians.

I guess you would have to go back to this incoherant mess to understand mine.

I never saw a very rich person who didn't own a judge, mayor, congressman or senator, and a whole flock of tax lawyers.

Jobs are produced by business... not by the rich.  There are many rich people who have no commercial employees... .their riches are made on wall street, and invested overseas.  Other than domestic staff, they hire no one pay No taxes, and contribute very little to our society... they take, never give.

Weather GE or GM or or the corner bakery hires you today depends on their need, not on how much money they have.  They don't MAKE JOBS for fun... they do it for profit... and often they make NO JOBS when the rich invest overseas.

If you just shoveled money out of the back of a pickup truck... it would all be spent here in the usa.
Televisions, food, entertainment, the track, you name it... even if it were spent on illegal drugs... the money stays here and is often taxed here.
Give a rich man a million and it may leave the country and be invested in competitors of local businesses in the guise of 'offshore tax dodges'.

"You complain about investing over seas"... I don't complain about INVESTING overseas... I complain about wealth made tax free in the USA that should be taxed in the USA, but is hidden in "OFFSHORE INVESTMENTS" ... a TAX DODGE, a MONEY LAUNDERING SCAM...
I never mentioned or supported NAFTA.

GM made it's 2nd straight profit... and is on schedule to pay back every dollar that it got from the USA.
You may not care about the hundreds of thousands of GM workers, and probably a million jobs if you include other suppliers... But I DO!

Government owns over 60% of GM.  The U.S. Government made profits.

Let see the next quarter, which is AFTER the Gub'met rebates expired. Since Real estate people report their sales monthly, instead of quarterly, we are already seeing the effect the expiration of the rebates and credits are having there. I expect no different from the car makers.

And as far as the Bush tax cuts, why haven't the Dems repealed them if they are so bad? They have the votes, and the 'pubs can do nothing to stop them.
And why don't you tell the entire story? Like the percentage of federal income tax filers that pay NO fed tax or even get a check for taxes they haven't paid. Here, I'll help

http://www.taxfoundation.org/news/show/1410.html

Seems to me that more people are moving into this category, and they are all NOT rich.

The Bush tax cuts for the rich don't need to be repealed... they expire at the end of this year.

I'll bet you the Dems renew them for ALL for a year. it's already been talked about and since they seem to have no clue how to get the economy started, they need to look like they are doing something.
with the "Dem in 'pubs" clothing" senators Snowe and Collins, they could have repealed them for 2010... they would have had 60 votes to block a filibuster
I ask again, why didn't they?

Bush's so-called "tax cut for the rich" helped a lot of middle class folks .. myself included.

I won't say that Bush is without blame for the economic troubles ... but the fact is that the events leading up to the crisis were set in motion during the Clinton presidency.  Deregulating the banking industry .. being too loose in giving mortgages to anyone regardless of ability to pay -- that cycle started in the Clinton 90's.

Where Bush is to blame is in perpetuating the cycle (practiced by Democrats as well) of hiring guys from Wall Street -- and Goldman Sachs in particular to run the Treasury, the SEC, and the other watch dog groups.

Congressional Democrats and Republicans bear a large share of the blame, too.  The House and Senate committees with oversight over the Banking industry ... played the fiddle .. and did not do their due diligence in overseeing Wall Street, the Banking industry, and the various federal departments and agencies.

Deregulating the Banks was a brainchild of Ronald the RayGun... Which is what this post is all about.  The author of the original post ''The GOP Destroyed U.S. Economy'', is Reagans Budget Director David Stockman.

Conservatives have ALMOST come to the point of actually blaming GWB for his own actions... not quite, but almost.

So far it's:
Blame Clinton, then blame Clinton again.
Blame Barney Frank,
Blame the Democrat congress, (even though they had controll only 2 of the Bush years.
Blame Obama for Bush... (not easy to figure this one out, but it's typical Conservative logic.

No one blames Clinton for the surplus.
or
Balanced budgets for 6 of his 8 years.
or
A booming economy,
It must be a Right Wing Flaw... A B C... 'always blame Clinton'

Reagan was out of office for almost a decade -- when Congress and Clinton deregulated the banking industry -- threw out Glass-Steigel   -- and when HUD insisted that banks ease mortgage requirements.

GWB was anything BUT a fiscal conservative. He was a social conservative.
The lefties like to lump conservatism into a mashed up pile because it fits their Agenda to demonize the word.

To be a fiscal conservative, you have to support low taxes AND low spending.

Agreed.  Bush #43 was not a fiscal conservative.

further .. even though I am a Democrat .. I am very disturbed with the out of control spending in both Washington and Albany.

If no one blames clinton for a surplus for 6 of 8 years, how about giving a "shout out" ( barry speak ) to the republican controlled congress which was in power during every one of the surplus years.

The surplus .. if there really was one .. in the 1990's was a result of

  a) George  H.W. Bush and Congress' 1990 or 1991 budget cap agreement --- the one where #41 broke his "no new tax" pledge in exchange for Dems agreeing to spending caps for the next decade or so.  these are the same spending caps that Clinton tried to break during his 1st term and then when they produced a "paper surplus" .. he (Clinton) tried to take credit for.

b) during the 1990's  a record high level of FICA (social security) tax money was coming into the Federal government's general fund --- this made the federal budget "look" balanced -- when instead they were actually stealing from the future to pay for the present spending.
