My understanding is that the CVS proposal is hampered because Rite-Aid holds an option on the corner building.

Something should be done soon - to address both vacant buildings.

Rite Aid holds no options on the property.

Actually, 4 Corners Pizza had great pizza.    As for BBQ, I prefer to do my own BBQ at home.

I noticed today that there's a sign on the door "No gas" - meaning all gas lines are disconnected and things are progressing.

Not on the 4 Corner's Pizza building -- but on the building on the corner of Guilderland and Curry Rd ---- my understanding is that  Rite Aid got an option - in order - to block CVS from building on the corner.

Often these major retailers work through 3rd parties to pick up those options.

For example,  I know that  the now extinct May Department Store Co.  used a 3rd party to buy out the Carl Co.and put it out of business just as they (Filene's and Lord & Taylor's)  began their push into the Albany retail market.     Big business can be brutal.

well, since removal of the structure was per # .. imagine having to pay by the ton for all the snow that was on it.  It's really not uncommon, after the investigation is done and insurance companies are done.  Figure there were at least 3 - 5 insurance companies trying to get their $$ together and settled.

I saw that they were working on this today.  Should go quick, considering the progress they were making.  Maybe it will be fully cleaned up before the place on Altamont Ave.  Wonder if they will "accidentally" continue and take out the building on the corner. It really needs to come down, too, or have SOMETHING done soon.

Yes - the permit was issued yesterday, but it couldn't start till today.  They'll finish Monday morning, it was a lot more than they estimated.

Far faster than the Edgewood that's sat for a week or more now, eh?

I heard that the pizza place is going into shoparama pizza. Wonder if the t-shirt place will rebuild?

They already moved back to their old location on Altamont Ave by the beverage center.
