Here's an update on Byron Williams, the liberal-hating, parolee right-wing crazy guy who opened fire on the California Highway Patrol last weekend.

Court documents released Tuesday say Williams told investigators he intended to start a revolution by traveling to San Francisco to kill people at the ACLU and the Tides Foundation (A George Soros charity), an organization that says it promotes 'economic justice'.

Williams, in his 12-minute-long gun battle, was armed with three guns, including a .308-caliber rifle that can penetrate ballistic body armor and vehicles.
End of update.

I wonder what News Source  Shooter Williams watches...

Thank heavens I thought he was illiterate too. How many radicals does this administration have in it's ranks. There's nut jobs in every walk of life and more on the liberal side than on the conservative side. We have Bush haters, eco crazies, anti oil nuts, and that's only a few and I'm sure the right has it's share too.

Once again Shadow you are wrong.  Of course it depends on what you think a nut job is.  Conservatives are rife with off-their-rocker types.  BTW will I see you at the Peace Conference in Albany this weekend?  Noam Chomsky will be there.  If you can't go, catch us on the broadcast.

Bill Ayers is a nut type who advises the President, Van Jones who still heads an organization for Obama, and there are Marxists who would like nothing better than to bring this country down and in my mind they are nut jobs just as a right wing nut with a gun is.

They bring the country down with WORDS...
These Right Wing Nuts want to bring down the country with Bullets & Armed Insurrection.
Big difference...

Dept Of Homeland Security, /I&A assesses that a number of economic and political factors are
driving a resurgence in rightwing extremist recruitment and radicalization activity.
Despite similarities to the climate of the 1990s, the threat posed by lone wolves and small
terrorist cells is more pronounced than in past years. In addition, the historical election of
an African American president and the prospect of policy changes are proving to be a
driving force for rightwing extremist recruitment and radicalization.

Don't take the word of a 'lefty'... Read the entire report that was commissioned by GWG.

Some of the groups on the left have used bombs, set fires, and sabotage utilities to enforce their agenda and they have killed just the same as a bullet. Don't assume that the left only believes in peaceful methods of getting their way.

Of course... both parties have in the past resorted to violence... neither is innocent.

But

The FBI, Homeland Security & even the CIA now see an immediate threat by Right Wing Extremest... not by all groups, which is always possible...
but PROBABLE by Right Wing Nuts!

Read the report.

I'm sure that is your opinion... and you have a right to your opinion.
Fox News and the Murdoch empire has made a lot of money selling those opinions... their real product isn't NEWS but FEAR... and they are excellent salesmen.

I prefer to believe the experts on the subject... FBI, CIA Homeland Security...
The GWB study they completed in April '09 disagrees with your opinion.   They know it's Right Wing Extremest.

American-Bred Terrorists Causing Alarm For Law Enforcement
Twenty-Year-Old Zachary Chesser the Latest in Concerning Trend
By JASON RYAN, PIERRE THOMAS, and XORJE OLIVARES
July 22, 2010
A Virginia man charged with providing material support to terrorists abroad appeared in court today requesting an attorney be appointed to him.

Zachary Chesser, 20, is accused of trying to join Al-Shabaab, a Somali-based Islamist militant group suspected in the recent bombing attacks in Uganda that left 73 dead and dozens more injured as they watched the World Cup final.

"I'm shocked—I'm just surprised," said Yvette Deale, Chesser's former neighbor. "It's not the kind of thing I would have expected in this neighborhood."

Chesser, who just two years ago was a high school football player and crew member in Fairfax, VA, is now one of 34 Americans accused of and charged with having ties to international terrorists in the past 18 months.

Sources say this trend represents an unprecedented spike in homegrown terror and is an emerging threat that has them deeply concerned. What they consider to be most alarming is the fact that many of those charged were radicalized on the Internet, with thousands of Americans reportedly frequenting terror websites that espouse mass murder.

"This Is What We Have Feared"

A recently disclosed FBI Directorate of Intelligence document from July 2009 estimated that there were as many as 15,000 websites and web forums that were supportive of terrorist activities. Yet, officials say the number of websites is constantly changing since many of the sites and forums are not maintained, with current estimates indicating as many as 10,000 active sites.

The FBI analysis noted that about 80 percent of those sites existed on U.S.-based computer servers. U.S. officials say these type of sites rapidly gained popularity when Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, began to post beheading videos on the Internet in 2003.

Of course all Terrorism is a problem for this country.  But your story is about one American providing support to terrorists abroad... which along with ALL TERRORISM is a threat.

Homeland security & the FBI said that a larger threat inside the USA is from Right Wing Nut Terrorism.

Read the report before you make assumptions.  All terrorism is a threat of course, no one denies  that.

I know... Fox, Rush loudmouth, Hannity, the Rodeo Clown... they all disagree... but again... They aren't selling news, they are selling FEAR, and doing a very good job.
