Four missionaries arrested at an Arab festival in Dearborn, Michigan, have been arraigned.
The missionaries have appeared each year of the Annual Arab International Festival, but this year police moved in and arrested them and confiscated a camera from one member was using to film the arrests. Detroit television station WXYZ was on hand for the arraignment and talked to one of the accused, Nabeel Qureshi.
"Our policy...as we were going through the festival [was] to allow the people to approach us," he explains. "So we did not approach anyone to avoid charges of harassing."
All four are charged with disturbing the peace, but 18-year-old Nageen Mayel, a recent convert from Islam to Christianity, was also charged with refusing to obey a police officer's order to stop filming. "I was scared," she told WXYZ-TV. "There was no reason for them to approach me, so my immediate reaction was fear of the unknown and why they were doing it."
All four missionaries plead not guilty today. They are represented by Robert Muise of the Thomas More Law Center, who points to the Constitution.
"If people are offended by the fact that they were preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to Muslims and trying to convert Muslims -- well, guess what, we have a First Amendment," Muise points out. "This is a free society. It's not a police state."

Detroit News.Com: Dearborn -- Four Christian missionaries were arraigned today on misdemeanor charges of disturbing the peace following their June 18 arrest at the Arab International Festival. Dearborn authorities said the four "chose to escalate their behavior, which appeared well-orchestrated and deliberate" as they handed out religious literature and talking with people at the festival.
City officials said police received a complaint of the members of Acts 17 Apologetics "harassing and intimidating patrons of the festival and that a large crowd was gathering."
The behavior of these individuals drew and incited a large crowd to a point where they were in violation of city ordinances, including breach of peace and failure to obey the lawful order of a police officer, according to the city's public relations department.
Festival rules require religious groups to distribute information at paid booths or outside the event.

I believe that GB, although I may not agree with his/her approach, can clearly see the forest through the trees. The progressives today are nothing more or nothing less than the NAZI party. Now don't get your panties in a twist here. NAZI is just an abbreviated form for National Sozialistische Deutsch Arbeiter-Partei. It means National Socialist.

We the people, are going to be very hard pressed to find ANY candidate who does not fall into the category of lying, self serving, greedy and power hungry! They ALL, both dems and reps want to control the pot, so to say. For decades we have had both reps and dems in power at all levels of government....from the top down. Some have been worse and some have been better than others. But in the end.....what has actually changed? NOTHING!!!
They have all succeeded, with the help of the media, to dumb down the american people. It is our chance, if we choose to take it, and go through the political garbage and find the truth for ourselves. I agree, If you don't like what you have now, do your best to find a candidate that you agree with and support that candidate. It can happen. It will Work if enough people want change.
