Joe Dominelli, one of the most renowned names in the history of Capital Region law enforcement, has been a patient at Ellis Hospital for several days.
He has been troubled with a respiratory ailment according to Flo Dominelli, his wife. She said some time this week her husband is expected to be transferred to Dutch Manor, a Rotterdam nursing home.
Dominelli, 93, was a longtime Rotterdam police chief. He retired in '82 after a 35-year career. He went on to serve as executive director of the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police for more than 20 years.
