Central dispatch was promoted as saving all the Towns money. It was projected that it was very nominal for Rotterdam, about $40,000 - $45,000 dollars per year out of the $800,000 dollar budget. Now, on the other hand, REMS is projected to cost the Town tax payers about $250,000 dollars per year in added taxes. So the Town Board, responsible for the welfare and protection of the residents, votes to approve a negligible Central Dispatch Resolution, but continues to ram the REMS special tax district which is an expense to taxpayers. One step forward, 10 steps back . . . . . .
I would be hard pressed to think that this board will reverse their initial vote in favor of central dispatch. And I'm 'shocked' that GP voted in favor of it!!!

I am disappointed in GP's vote. As for the rest of the crew, they won't change their vote...they are still taking direction from the County Dems on this subject.
Bob G last week on Central Dispatch:Bob G. specifically outlined the issues he had concerns with regarding central dispatch. The main issue was the formula that the county used to compute each municipality's cost share. The other main issue is the "illegality" of entering into a 20 yr. contract because no Town Board supposedly can enter into a contract for longer than five years. He moved to table the resolution until better information became available and many of these questions could be answered.
Bob G THIS WEEK when interviewed by the Daily Gazette: He (Bob G) said he voted against participating in the central dispatch plan because the town had not spoken with the PBA prior to the vote. (No mention of the other issues.)
BOB WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT TO HEAR AND IN THE END...HE WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT IT!
Logic would bring "all" parties to the table on an issue such as this

It's bad enogh we are serving up chicken fried peacock at the western staffed, propane powered, BBQ flavored, chlorine cleanesed, pool supply, hunting chalet.

Thanks to DiLeva, Parisi and Martin the "secret" meeting was not secret...they would not vote to move into executive session unless and until a sensitive issue arose, which it did not.
I will have a full video downloaded and posted here soon...stand by.
I'm sure they didn't like it at all. The second the meeting ended, Doogie Howser was the first to ask the resident who recorded the meeting to send the video to him (it was recorded on a cell phone). The resident told him she was sending it to me (I'm still waiting for her to download it, I haven't forgotten you guys)...and Doogie wanted me to send it to him.
Maybe I should tell him to FOIL for it...and when he doesn't respond in five months, I'll tell him that he can assume my non-answer to be a denial and take it to one of the appeals officers: DiLeva, Parisi or Martin ! ;
tell him if it was so important to him, they should have the recorded voice (certified/notarized by the legal town clerk) - or better, televised - that is, if they didn't try to hide it behind executive session.
He can watch it here like the rest of us, I'd ignore his "request"
ROTTERDAM PBA worried over dispatch plan BY MICHAEL LAMENDOLA Gazette Reporter
Investigator Rich Dunsmore of the town’s Police Department has been doing a little investigating of his own into the plan to create a countywide central dispatch center. And Dunsmore, who is president of the Rotterdam Police Benevolent Association, is not happy with what he’s discovered. “We have some serious issues with the model. These are not nitpicking issues but have to do with offi cer safety,” he said. The county is proposing to consolidate dispatch centers operated by Rotterdam, Glenville, Schenectady and Niskayuna into a single center. The municipalities would pay a formula-based fee to operate the center. County officials said central dispatch will save the municipalities money and lead to seamless mutual aid. Dunsmore brought his concerns to the Town Board Wednesday night, hoping for answers. He didn’t get any. Board members shook their heads “no” when asked if they knew who would perform the duties that dispatchers in the town currently perform. These duties include staffing police headquarters 24 hours a day, seven days a week, where dispatchers greet visitors and provide police reports to people. Dispatchers also monitor closed circuit cameras in the booking cells, serving as an extra set of eyes and ears for police officers processing suspects. Dunsmore called this a safety issue for the offi cers. In addition, dispatchers fi le and process police reports and other records and they monitor alarm boards for residents, for which the town charges a nominal fee. Dunsmore said residents would lose these services, and the added security they provide, when town dispatchers are transferred over to the central dispatch center. He said officers would spend more time on paperwork and less time on the streets without the dispatchers. Dunsmore also raised the issue of staffing at the proposed central dispatch center. The current model calls for four call takers and four radio operators to serve all the police, fi re and other emergency services in the county. Rotterdam’s dispatch center has fi ve operators dedicated to the town. They are familiar with the town’s road network and with some of the people police deal with frequently, Dunsmore said. He said this knowledge could be lost in the central dispatch center. ................>>>>..........................................>>>>....................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01302&AppName=1

Is that so-called twit of a lawyer kidding....asking for a copy of the video...they pay someone to record meetings, where was he? I wouldn't give that little boy squat......
This is the end result when cons/cops endorse and support dems. Perhaps they will think twice before they endorse another dem. Perhaps?

Rest assured they were warned long ago about subserviency to their County Democrat owners...I urged BH to cut them loose when we took over the Conservative Committee and he obviously refused. Now they will reap what they have sown.
I just received word that our resident videographer has to get the cable necessary to download the meeting video...and that I will have it the moment it is ready...sorry for the delay...should be today.
