County Democratic Legislature Chairwoman Susan Savage chose a message Sunday that will no doubt reverberate in most statewide campaigns this year -- that of anti-incumbency.
Susan Savage is campaigning on an anti-incumbancy message? Hahahaha. Susan Savage has been seated on the Schenectady County Legislature for 12 years (first elected in 1998 ). Further, as a testament to her being an insider, she works for New York State as Director of Intergovernmental Relations at ORPS (a patronage position, in my opinion). Lastly, if recollection serves me right, her husband is Steven Weisgarten, a NYS government Lobbyist. An outsider? LOL. I hardly think so.
Savage, who announced her bid to unseat longtime Republican state Sen. Hugh Farley, said her role in helping cut county property taxes and create 3,500 private-sector jobs in recent years makes her qualified to end budget stalemates and boost New York state's economy.
Schenectady County is listed annually among those in the entire nation having the highest county property taxes. And the 3,500 private-sector jobs that she created ... has anyone located them? ... the NYS Comptroller couldn't when he audited the Metroplex Authority.
If you want bigger government, with more patronage, higher taxes, and longer lines of people receiving public assistance, vote for Susan Savage.
My Lord, I can't even read her statement without laughing out loud.
There may be a silver lining, however. Will she resign her position on the Schenectady County Legislature so that she can focus on her campaign and not put the peoples' business on hold?
All said, I think that it is time for Senator Hugh Farley to resign. This will be a difficult race for him. And, I agree with Savage's statement that there is an anti-imcumbancy sentament, particulary with the state government that has clearly proven itself to be broken. I think that the Republicans should run a young, conservative minded business man or woman; one that has shown a commitment to serve his/her community. Anyone have any nominations?
I predict that the next county chair will be judy dago. Any bets?

So did I! And in case you didn't know, I am not a registered democrap. I think they called every voter in the district!
Here is the # 382-9412. I missed the call on my cell but then listened to the voicemail. The # came up on my call list and she also left her number in the message to "reach her." However I tried to call back but no one answered. So that is another pile of crap. She doesn't want to be "reached" any more than she wants to "change" anything in the state! LOL!
