AMEDORE UNANIMOUSLY ENDORSED BY MONTGOMERY GOP Today at 9:49pm
Assemblyman George Amedore (R,C-Rotterdam) today announced he was unanimously endorsed as the Republican candidate for the 105th Assembly District at the Montgomery County Republican Committee’s annual spring meeting in Fonda.
At the meeting, Chairman Emanuele praised George Amedore for his work ethic and voting record in Albany. "Assemblyman Amedore is the voice we need to represent the residents of Montgomery County in the State Assembly. George knows the problems facing this county and is certainly standing up to the politicians in Albany. That is why George has the undivided support of the Montgomery County GOP. I am proud and honored that our committee stands united in strong support of George Amedore, our voice in the 105th."
“I am very humbled and honored with the endorsement from the Montgomery County GOP and Chairman Emanuele. Their outpouring of support strengthens my commitment to public service and resolve to continue the fight to bring about the changes we so desperately need in Albany,” said Amedore.
Amedore being unanimously endorsed by Montgomery County GOP, gee, there's a real shocker... They can see right through all of the b.s.
They can see through it an laugh at rotterdam politics!

Sean Ahern 05/19/10 Amedore calls statement ‘bogus’
Rotterdam GOP members say Assemblyman George Amedore did not support the Rotterdam Republican ticket in 2009 because the town denied a zoning change he had applied for. Amedore, who is awaiting the Schenectady County endorsement for his second Assembly run, denies the allegation.
According to minutes from a Jan. 27 meeting of the Rotterdam Republican Party, Amedore, R,C-Rotterdam, said the reason that he did not support the 2009 Republican ticket was because of a zoning change he was not granted by former Town Supervisor Steve Tommasone. “I didn’t support the republican ticket because Steve Tommasone didn’t give me my zone change in Rotterdam and it cost my family a lot of money!” the minutes of the meeting show Amedore saying.
Amedore, in a Wednesday, May 19 interview, said that the minutes were “bogus” and were amended to reflect what some members wanted them to say.
“Those are not my words- those minutes were amended,” said Amedore. “Those are bogus meeting minutes, they are manipulating them to what they want to say. I am in a public office to serve the people and will not support any politician or political campaign that are nasty and goes against peoples character.”
Town board member and New York State Assembly candidate Gerard Parisi said he was in the room when Amedore made the statement — something he says the committee considered when endorsing him as their pick for the 105th Assembly seat.
“I think its something the committee looked at when they were looking at their candidate,” said Parisi. “Its not exactly easy in party politics to go against the incumbent…I don’t think they want to endorse any candidate that does not reflect the ideals of the committee.”
Rotterdam Republican committeewoman Tracy Donovan also said that Amedore did not support the 2009 Republican ticket, did nothing to stop the No New Tax Party and never reached out to the community during the campaign. According to the minutes, Donovan asks him why he was not around during the whole campaign until the night of the vote. Donovan then states that he “stood alone in the corner with a big smile on his face.”
It is at this point in the minutes that Amedore responds about the zoning change and former town supervisor Tommasone. Amedore on Wednesday said the zone change had no real bearing on the campaign of 2009 and believes the question and answer were taken out of context. Amedore says he was not asked to take part in the Rotterdam campaigns until the night before the election.
“It’s the same old sick tactics that people are sick and tired of,” said Amedore on Wednesday, May 19. “I will not support any type of people that want to use those types of tactics.”
Amedore was endorsed by the Montgomery County Republican Committee at their annual spring meeting in Florida on Tuesday, May 18. The Schenectady Republican Committee will meet in the coming weeks to pick their endorsement.

SCHENECTADY COUNTY GOP tiff in 105th District reveals Rotterdam grudge BY MICHAEL LAMENDOLA Gazette Reporter
Schenectady County Republican leaders are trying to repair rifts in the party that threaten to damage efforts to re-elect Assemblyman George Amedore this November. The Rotterdam Republican Committee is in open revolt with the county committee over whom to support in the 105th Assembly District race this year. The town committee supports its former chairman, Gerard Parisi, for Amedore’s seat while the county committee supports Amedore. The town carries a lot of weight in terms of votes within the 105th Assembly District, which consists of Montgomery County and Duanesburg, Princetown, Rotterdam and portions of the city in Schenectady County. Schenectady County contains 12,500 Republicans centered mostly in Rotterdam and the city versus 10,400 Republicans in Montgomery County. County Republican Chairman Tom Buchanan called the split “fallout from the town Republicans over their losses last year. They are trying to make Amedore a scapegoat.” Buchanan said “Amedore did not lead the ticket in Rotterdam. Tommasone led the ticket and that is where the finger should be pointed.” Buchanan’s reference was to Steve Tommasone, then supervisor, ousted in a Democratic surge. Amedore called the split is ridiculous. “It does not show the party is united, and it could only possibly strengthen the opposing parties.” Parisi said he plans to wage a primary against Amedore in September and will collect signatures to get on the ballot with help of town committee members. He needs 1,000 names. Angelo Santabarbara, a former Republican who changed his party to Democrat late last year, is expected to run for the Assembly seat. Santabarbara is a Schenectady County legislator representing Rotterdam, Duanesburg and Princetown. BITTER SPLIT The split has its roots in last November’s election. Republicans had a super-majority on the Town Board, but lost to a coalition of Democrats and Conservatives. Parisi, who as town chairman ran the local GOP campaigns, is the sole Republican left on the board. Parisi said Amedore has lost support of “some of his GOP brethren” because of a statement he made to the town Republican committee on Jan. 27, in response to a question as to why Amedore did not do more to support the local Republican ticket. Amedore is said to have told the committee, “I didn’t support the Republican ticket because Steve Tommasone didn’t give me my zone change in Rotterdam and it cost my family a lot of money.” Tracy Donovan took the meeting minutes containing Amedore’s statement and stands by her notes. The meeting was not recorded, but former county Legislator Joe Suhrada said he heard Amedore make the statement. Amedore denied using those exact words. “I never said I did not support Steve Tommasone. What I said was a clarification about what my father said about Steve Tommasone not being a man of his word.” Amedore said Amedore Homes had sought a zoning change to build a duplex on Putnam Road in 2009. The company obtained approval from the town Planning Board and expected approval from the then-Republican-controlled Town Board, which has authority over all zoning changes, he said. The board, however, voted against the change. “We were led to believe it would be a good project. But some of the leaders of the Town Board put politics in front of serving the people,” Amedore said. “They thought it would not look too good if they voted on a project involving me, a Republican and an assemblyman.” As to the November election campaign, Amedore said he was never asked to participate. “I didn’t get involved because I was told by Parisi that the Republicans had the election in the bag.” Amedore said the town Republicans’ loss “had nothing to do with my involvement. They did things that did not reduce taxes and the people were tired by their bickering.” Amedore also said he opposed the campaign literature town Republicans sent out, calling it nasty and personal. “People are tired of nasty, personal campaigns. I do not participate in local politics that puts politics above people,” he said. Amedore put the blame for the loss squarely on Parisi. “He does not want to take the responsibility as a political leader in a campaign that got swept. If I had all that infl uence over residents in the town of Rotterdam, I would be superhuman, or something,” Amedore said.............>>>>..........>>>>...........http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01300&AppName=1
So who are we to believe here? In the Spotlight Amedore says "Amedore, in a Wednesday, May 19 interview, said that the minutes were “bogus” and were amended to reflect what some members wanted them to say. “Those are not my words- those minutes were amended,” said Amedore. “Those are bogus meeting minutes, they are manipulating them to what they want to say. I am in a public office to serve the people and will not support any politician or political campaign that are nasty and goes against peoples character.”
Yet in the Gazette Amedore says " Amedore denied using those exact words. “I never said I did not support Steve Tommasone. What I said was a clarification about what my father said about Steve Tommasone not being a man of his word.”
Someone getting confused on what he said and what he didnt say??? hmmmmmm, very interesting...
You are splitting hairs here Curiosity. The obvious issue here is that the local reps are pissed and blaming RACC for their loss. GP was the chair when they all lost and yet it appears that he is not accepting any responsibility for the loss. GP apparently is just trying to place blame on something and someone other than himself and the candidates that ran.
GP and crew are just trying to drag GA into the cesspool and split the votes so GP's buddy AS can hopefully take the assembly seat.
Negative campaigning backfired on the local reps, under GP's leadership regarding FDG. They apparently haven't learned yet.
Rotterdam politics.....ain't it entertaining?

The Republicans lost because of the spoiler NNTP line....the Democrats won because of the NNTP line. Period. To attribute results to anything else is either naive or deceptive.
