This is a useless law and overreaching...if a program is racist then get rid of it. Can't a school official do this? Why does this take the governor? That's my only question for it. If the Reps and Tea Party want less government then isn't this also an issue? Seems like legislative overkill to me.

You want to have government agents limit my economic freedom at every turn. You want governmental agents running my health care and telling my doctor what she can and can't do for my health needs. You want higher taxes so as to limit my lifestyle choices and to take what does not belong to anyone but me, so it can given to whatever person a government agent deems worthy. Well I knew of EE drama, but only heard heavily opinionated views on it. People should not make decisions based on that, so I attempted to get some facts. Some people were able to detail the facts.
The problem isn't the state using its power, I'm all for that. It is walking on the 4th amendment I have a problem with. If the law was structured in a way that doesn't racially profile then great!
Actually profiling works because unbeknown to most liberal democraps, illegal immigrants tend to be foreigners. Federal law requires non-citizens to carry their papers and be able to show proof of their status when it is requested. Maybe it is Obama who is the racist for having this law stay on the books, no? But not really. The convienient excuse is that ONLY FEDERAL AGENTS can enforce these laws, thereby allowing these criminal intruders to skate, because with a liberal nod and wink to La Raza (THE RACE) which is a Latino left wing pressure group, the feds WILL NOT enforce the immigration laws of our land and actually WANT the criminal intruders here so they can vote democrap and be good customers of our burgeoning social service industry (which is the only business really growing in America.)

Even if profiling works for 80% of the people they stop, 20% of the people will have had their 4th amendment violated. That is why the law is illegal and will be struck down. I know AZ has an issue and Obama is pushing legislation on it now. He is already doing more then 8 years of Bush ever did.

The law Arizona passed is modeled after the Federal law only it explicitly states that police can't ask someone for their ID or green card unless the person has done something wrong. When police stop you for speeding and ask you for your license and registration is that profiling?

They passed a 2nd law adding that, which is good and I have no problem with. I did post that somewhere here on these boards the day they passed it but apparently everyone would rather scream I'm some liberal commie because I disagree.
