I came back to Rotterdam this week and found several businesses GONE ...

Payless Shoes near Hannaford, closed, vacant.

Repair shop at the corner of Curry & Helderberg - closed, vacant.

Shoporama Pizza - I know, it's been a while, but I thought someone else would go in there by now.  I still miss their pizza and wings.

Bernie's Garage, Helderberg Ave. Longtime Schdy business, poof, gone.

Is there anything NEW in town?  Hamburg St still looks like a wasteland. Corner of Curry/Guilderland just got MORE vacant. Curry Rd Shopping Center - still looks awful. Capitol Plaza - 'nuff said.  I did see there's new apartments or houses going on Curry Road, opposite Cumberland Farms. New houses going in above Old Brick ..

But is there any commercial development going on?

I think you mean Curry and Guilderland repair shop, and they moved to Hamburg St I think.  Curry Rd Shopping center was supposed to be a Walgreens, they pulled out a while back.  Capitol Plaza is horrible, and looking at that made me laugh.

The garage on the corner of curry and guilderland moved to Bernie's on heldeburg ave.

I guess Bernies building is bigger than the one they had on curry/guilderland.

We need more government programs, employees, taxation and regulation. That will solve it all. Vote democrap some more.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
