The fact is that Mrs. Esposito is an alected official -- not a civil service or appointed town employee -- so how the issue of medical leave is handled would be different.

The Supervisor and Town Board are limited in what action they could take -- again -- because she is elected and not a civil service or appointed town employee.

The question may become if the office has become vacant.

This is about leadership, not legality.  Mrs. Esposito needs to be told it is time to get off the gravey train.  Officials in the Democrat Party need to tell her to do the right thing.  The fact that she isn't getting pressure from the Democrat Party to do the right thing is going to hurt the Rotterdam Democrat party, if it hasn't already.  Democrats need to realize, the residents aren't "picking" on her, they don't want to pay $200K in salary and $21K per year in pension while she basks in the Florida sun.  It's a slap in the face.

Then you guys should not have tried to set her up.  Blame ST and Mertz for this debacle.  I think she should go to work too.  But she's sticking it to you taxpayers. How come you didn't have any problem with ST being Boston instead of TH?
You want Mr. DeGeorgio in her place--he disappears quicker than Revlon's vanishing cream. LOL

You are right; she is sticking it to the taxpayers.  And her fellow Democrats are allowing and encouraging her.  She is only hurting her own reputation.  ST, JM, GP and gang are GONE!  You can't blame the boogiemen anymore.  Eunice is soaking the taxpayer for nearly $75K a year in retirement and salary for doing nothing.  What does ST being in Boston have to do with EE's $53K for a year of doing NOTHING?  The more the Democrats justify it the more it will hurt them.  Rotterdam residents are VERY FRUGAL; this give-away won't sit well with them come election time.

Sorry but you are the folks who continue to invoke the name of James Constantino--and he's been gone how long???????????  No ST and the gang were out to get Eunice and you KNOW it.  ST was working in boston and not sitting in TH doing business.  He had his then secretary running interference for him and convering his dead a$$.  The only thing worse than paying an elected official who is blantantly not showing up for work is paying the one who PRETENDED he was doing the people's business but in fact was running the town in to the ground from a distance and showing up in his flag pin when he could.  No the town voted out Dumb and Dumber (ST and Mertz) and put in a more challenging group who does show up.  Eunice's office is not suffering without her.  The deputy is fine.  But again I say JD as town clerk.  That will be quite the race especially if Diane Marco opposes him.

Well yes that just makes perfect sense. JD has that 'special way' of dealing with the seniors. He could make it 'personal' like he did at the rotterdam senior center!!

I heard this a couple of weeks ago and nearly fell over. The REPS have another qualified candidate, She could cakewalk into the town clerks office. Naah-DM vs. JD. Another only in Rotterdam battle royale.

That's because the supporters of James Constantino are involved in Town politics and hold elected and appointed positions.  On the other hand, ST, JM, and GP have NO influence at TH.  Very different when envoking names.  Not showing up to the job you were elected for, and blaming people that aren't even in TH anymore isn't going to fly with the residents.

James Constantino held elected office for 13 years, and the people that supported(covered for) him are still pulling the strings in the Rotterdam Democrat Party.

Not suffering?  Probably less mistakes being made without her.  Hopefully hadicap tags are going to those who rightfully deserve them.

Cicero- If you can't beat em (Dems) join em.  Just ask Holly, Judy. Dom, Nikki, Angelo, FDG, DeGeorgio, and whomever whatever double agent that lurks amongst you bumbling idiots.  Tommasone is such a blubbering idiot.  He could've been Supervisor for much longer had he learned how to "work together."  What a fiasco his admin turned out to be.  Signore tried but he is a stupid as they come when it comes to Rotterdam politics.  He got snookered by Steve and still doesn't know it. Bawaahaahaah

And you want us to believe that McGarry has a shot.  That's funnier than Steve getting beat by the "farmer from the hills."
