CHAPTER 63. SALARIES AND COMPENSATION [The salaries and compensation of Town officers and employees are determined annually by the Town Board. Information concerning current salary and compensation figures is on file in the office of the Town Clerk where it is available for examination during regular office hours.]
its is a shame that her salary wasnt reduced to reflect that amount of time she is currently there??
DVOR - should EE continue to recieve 50,000 - given her current state of affairs??? yes or no
Town Clerk is an elected office - it's not at the discretion of the Town Board. So, yes - until she resigns (and a special election or appointment is made) or is replaced by election, she is eligible to collect that salary. |

The Town Board sets the salary of either an elected or appointed clerk, however, once elected it would take a resignation or election to change that salary or office holder for the remainder of their term.

It is right in the agenda ... so I guess you are the dumb a**
Read the resolution, not the agenda. The resolution states EE to be the Foil Officer and the deputy sup. to be the Foil appeals officer. |

She is legally entitled to a salary as an elected official - so you can't just zero it out. If you lower the line item with her salary in the budget -- and then she resigns --- you would have to go back and restore the salary for her successor. So for the time being - leave it in the budget. |

You stated it better than I did -- and I agree with what you are saying. Although, I do believe they can lower the salary during the term of office but can not completely zero it out. That is why the Supervisor's salary has to be in the budget ... they write the check(s) to him ... but he gives it back. |

OK, the residents are upset with the payment of $6,500 dollars to the consultant. Yet no one approaches the Board on Eunie's salary. As we know she is an elected officiial and only needs to work one day a year. But no one says the Board can't reduce her salary to $1 dollar per year. Why is there no outrage over the Board's reluctance to do this for the taxpayers? I guess they will have to be reminded in November . . . . .
I'm wondering if you have insider information. I've heard rumors that the current admin has been considering doing this...they know that they really need to address this but were holding off for the present time because they would rather that our Clerk step down voluntarily. That way, she would (sort of) leave on her own terms. With all the damage that this adminstration has caused, this is one thing that they need to put behind them. |

I'm sure that with the up coming election, the dems are going to have to resolve this as to not make it a negative issue for them. If this does come to fruition during this election year, it will appear that the dems are bringing closer to the issue for their political aspirations......not for the benefit of saving the taxpayers $$$$$. But hey...I could be wrong. Time will tell. |
