Why set-up Eunie?  Are you kidding.  ST, the Surprise package all had reasons to set her up.  They wanted her out.  They resented her relationship with town folk and she was BRUTALLY honest about what s screw-up ST was not to mention he rudeness and arrogance--that was a lot coming from an air-head like Steve.  AS fosr Surprise lots and lots of folks complained to Eunie about Surprise.  He was another arrogant a$$.  He was so rude to my husband, he was reported to the organization of assessors.  It's one thing to be stupid and another to be arrogant but coupling the two is deadly combination.  As a result, the Rep boys in the band were kicked out by the towns folks.  Tell you what BT--you better get your $hit together before you keep firing off your mouth.  Because somebody here might just be that brutally honest with you.

Set up, schmet up.  It doesn't matter anymore.  She admitted to wrongdoing, was slapped on the hand and it's over.  She hasn't done it again, because she isn't in the office.

What kind of a job can you take a leave for 10 months with full pay?  Why aren't more Rotterdamians questionning that?  Why isn't the current board speaking about replacing her.  I would be giving her a ultimatum date.  Either you come back by a certain date, or you are done.  End of discussion.  This is taxpayer rip off!  It's not just EE that's collecting money, it's the entire TB that isn't addressing this vacant position. They need to work on this issue.  Let's get someone in there to do the job for us if she can't.  Time's up!

Let's not forget our incoming TB member, was a good comrade of Jimbo.  It took Guilderland PD to bring him down. No intimidation of residents in that town.

Voter's have short memories for sure to put in Calder over Salamone.  Frank comes from a good family that have done a lot for this community to the good.  No cover ups needed and no perversion.

Actually, it does matter ... and as I have said before .. the statute of limitations on the
conspiracy to commit fraud is not over -- so those who were involved will eventually be
brought to justice.

Salamone has displayed over and over that he cannot think on his feet.  I knew from the beginning that Calder would win.  I called it as soon as he announced.  Salamone was no match for Calder and Calder didn't even have to open his mouth.

OMG...WHO CARES ABOUT THE NOTARY BS?!?

Ron - Put up or shut up. I haven't seen or heard anything that would suggest ANY such investigation is in the works or even being contemplated. BS all you want, but any real LEO would laugh at you if you brought that case to them.

Everyone else - The point is $50k is going out the window FOR NOTHING. Hell, even when EE WAS in at town hall, she didn't do anything except fumble around the office like it were a playpen. Do any of you realize her salary is coming out of your TAXES?!? And correct me if I'm wrong, the 'gang of three' that lowered the tax increase from 7% to 3% did it by a reducing the levy $200,000...so EE's salary is a quarter of that!! Mind you, the office runs FINE without her...why not eliminate her altogether and reduce the tax increase by another percent!

But screw it. Some of you people seem OK with mailing a few dollars each month down to Florida for the EE retirement fund. Oh yeah...isn't she already collecting retirement? Utterly pathetic...

Why not combine the function of the Receiver of Taxes with the Clerk.  We already have an elected Receiver of Taxes.  Not that Dawn sits on her hands, but how much do we utilize her other than tax time?

Seems like we could combine the functions and save the cost of the $50,000 position plus benefits.  But oh wait this idea was not mine.  It came from the Tommasone administration.  So it couldn't be sensible, right? Apparently, they weren't all bad now were they?

Right now there are many many people who live in rotterdam that are pi$$ed that eunie is awol while collecting taxpayer's money. But they also know that there is nothing they can do about it.

Isn't this the same situation in the city with VanNorden? He's been out since around June. He had 'symptons of a heart attack which turned out to be nothing..............and he hasn't been back to work since. However, he does still receive his taxpaid salary!

Just another example of 'fleecing the taxpayers'!

A few months back, I raised the same question.    Legally, the town is required to have a Town Clerk ..
but is not required to have a Receiver of Taxes.    It is legally possible to combine the functions of BOTH
offices under the Town Clerk  -- but the Town Board can not pass a resolution to do that until sometime
between January 1, 2013 and, I believe,  the end of April 2013.     The current elected Town Clerk and Town Receiver of Taxes terms expire on December 31, 2013.    Thus the resolution would have to be passed
during the  first part of that election year to take effect on January 1, 2014.

I will go one step further in suggesting that Dawn Pasquarella should be named the First Deputy Town Clerk
and thus be in line to succeed Mrs. Esposito should she step down before the end of her term.  The
current First Deputy Town Clerk could be moved to Second Deputy Town Clerk  and her compensation and
duties could remain the same as it is now.    At least in this way -- we are preparing the town for both an
orderly succession in the Town Clerk's office  .. and preparing for the possible consolidation of the two
offices.     BTW - I would keep the staff in the Receiver of Taxes Office and the Town Clerks office as it is
for now ... just setting in motion the eventual merger of the actual elected "department manager".

Quoted from Clubhouse on the Part time Assessor thread:

"Not a bad gig...although if I had a choice, I'd take the Town Clerk's job in Rotterdam...there is NO requirement to show up at Town Hall...EVER!!"

Apparently, she doesn't have to show up at all anymore because she has a full time deputy.  That is the best
gig in town as she collects her salary of $50,000, plus the registar of vital statistics stipend (for f'n what)
of $3,400.00.  Everyone at town hall thinks her family is behind the fact she doesn't retire permanently so
they can keep collecting her check.

Whether it is personally the Town Clerk or her family who is perpetuating this ripoff is irrelevant.  Someone in that family circle should come to their senses and realize that this past year has really damaged EE's "legacy" and she will be remembered as the Town Clerk who collected a paycheck without performing her duties...and the intent was simply spite.  What a laughingstock this town is along with the current administration for allowing this.
