"Rumor" has it that the Rotterdam GOP dinner was a complete embarassment, can anyone confirm?

Reports are that last year they had 141 and this year it was 34.  To make matters worse, Don Montero Parisi was a no show.

They had 28 less than a quarter of last year. How many were comps? The REP implosion continues. Naah, no reason to make any changes. Full speed ahead and primary the last elected REP in town-George Amedore.

No reason to make any changes-soon there will be more CONS or GREENS on the County Leg. Who's the town chair this week? Tebano's cousin?

Did they hold it in a bunker or phone booth?  What about the band?  Did they get paid?

This will continue as long as the current chair remains entrenched.

It's time to have the chair reupholstered.

I was there last year - there were only about 50-75 people there.  I think there were around 35 there this year...can anyone confirm?  Also, I heard Parisi came in the very beginning, but had to leave to coach his son's basketball game. What a bastard, right?!

Trust me. Steve, Mertz, Signore and Suhrada have a full share of the blame here too.  Gerard is a wannabe who serves not by the hand of the electorate but by the hand of a corrupt, sleazy, backroom deal.

Yes Peeps you're right.  So as Benny would say "clean out the barn" and as MT says "reupholster the chair."

Get a sub to coach your basketball game?  Gerard's responsibilities as a town board member are to serve the town, not attend the Reagan Day Dinner in its entirety.  The same people complaining about politics as usual criticize him for coaching his kid's team.  Honestly guys, you can't really feel that way!

Ok-so the GOP dinner was not important to him--or anybody else apparently.  I don't care if he chooses to coach instead of support the trainwreck.  Hope he's a better coach than a board member.

Doesn't matter if the attendance this year was 28, 34, or 35 (does that include the wait staff?).  The reports all point to attendance figures at 25% of past years.  By all measures, this is a dismal showing; a show of no confidence in the sitting party leadership.

Under Buchanan's tutelage, the Republicans have gone from the majority party at the county and the town levels to being rendered unsubstantial and irrelevant.

It is hard for me to fathom how a "leader" can make so many bad decisions over time without facing a serious and successful challenge from within.  Anyone interested in mounting a mutiny?
