Eliminating Industrial Property and giving into the criminals at Sync wasn't enough for the Rotterdam Town Circus? Now they want to eliminate MORE Industrial Property for the purpose of putting up a Halfway House????

This better be on the agenda because they want the proposal to die. These clowns better not be in favor of this project, but it's on the agenda so who knows what's going to happen...

Well in either case, it will be in Hamburg Streets backyard.

I'm sure FDG will vote YES for the zoning change, since he is isolated from any negative fallout from his decision on his 90+ acre 6000 sqare foot, $250K castle.(TIC)

Yeah, all we need now is for Wayne Calder to be elected & the votes will be "all in favor" instead of "4-1."  It will just be perpetuating the good ole boys network that Jimmy C started.

So where 'in rotterdam' exactly is this property? I googled it and I still can't visualize where.

How weird, I know a business person who called the numbers on the sign there several times hotly interested in that property for some light industrial purpose and no one ever returned the calls. I can't wait to hear how they are "unable" to rent it for light industrial use, etc. and "no interest" from the business community for using it, blah blah blah.

There's probably some of that free grant money involved if it becomes a half-way house instead of a tax paying job making business.

More spot zoning. This reeks again of another cronie making out. Another campaign contributor? I'd love to know all the incidentals about this deal. "Run the town like a business"!

MOST municipalities fight to keep crime and undesirables out of their community. Not rotterdam....they welcome them with open arms! More taxes taken off the tax rolls. Brilliant!

I have 2 friends who are parole officers who said that it is the job of the parole system to monitor and ease these people back into society. They also told me that the area being proposed is not sufficient for these people. They are encouraged to find jobs and this area does not have enough jobs to sustain these people. Nor is there enough housing for them, as most, when ready, will be placed in section8 housing. These issues are usually handled by the parole system or the family of these criminals.

If they need to be eased into society.....they apparently were in prison for a 'long' time. Yup....this is raising the bar for rotterdam...BRILLIANT!

I certainly hope that the residents will have a list of exactly who and what crimes they were in prison for, will be available BEFORE this issue is decided on.
