John the bigger wow is that you don't see anything wrong with this. Apparently you think it's ok for politicians to expect favors from the Town. Why? Because they are important? BS! Politicians should be treated like us. They shouldn't be given an advantage.
Amedore got his rezone - for putnam woods - argiculture to multi family - if i remember that was more contoversial than anything else
dont know enough about laws to comment on easement issues - but that is what courts are for to straighten out that crap
Amedore buying the house, hush money, really!!!!!! uuuuhhhmmmmm excuse me there what is golub doing??
The problem here - is how conveniently this crap is coming out now that the new golden boy GP wants a piece of the pie. Thats why i cry bullsh#t!!!!!!! and why isnt this stuff being published in any paper? why arent reporters following up?
And to claim that amedore took down the local reps.............. just to much to handle...........
Handle it Peter. Although I do agree with your question about the press. Where the hell is the gazette on this? Is the problem the convenience to GP or the inconvenience to your golden boy Peter? Most politicians aren't dumb enough to say this stuff outloud...George is... Don't kill the messenger this is all on George.

After Amedore purchased the house with the easement issues, he wanted to rezone it. The Town didn't oblige him...that is the rezone issue! And GA bought the house from the homeowner just prior to the election...you may remember the homeowner from TB meetings in the mid 2000's...he could have done some serious damage to GA's campaign regarding the easement issues! Wish we had this homeowner now to deal with the current admin. Guess he was smart and moved out of Rotterdam!
GP always seems to be in a position of convenience, huh
eunice and now amedore
Was GA ever asked to actually help? There are no pictures of GA and Tommasone/signore/suhrada that could have been used? Parisi - couldnt get a debate or open dialogue with FDG Parisi - should have had a letter ready for amedore to OK after Dileva crap
All this happened under his watch as chairman
And while all this crap gets played out - Angelo Santabarbara is laughing his a** off, selling cheese, and chomping at the bit for this race to begin.
Ugliest politics ever!!!
Black Spidey - how many of those 31-0 votes for parisi where by proxy?
WOW! This is getting good. The Republicans are eating their own again. The time has come for Tom Buchanan to bail. The ship is sinking and there aren't any lifelines left. Call Regis!
Where's is Jimmy T??? How about the disgraced Bill Sherman? Maybe Gustave Leschen? OOPs he dead. So Sorry. Help who can rescue this train wreck?? I know... the flying Salamone Brothers. HaHaHaHaHaHa
I have no idea Peter. I am not on the Rotterdam Republican Committee and therefore wasn't there. However, based on my understanding of proxies for stockholder meetings a proxy vote is exactly the same as a vote in person. Different rules here or are you just trying to take the heat off the fact that George basically said "grant me illegal favors and I'll help you but if you don't grant me illegal favors I'll crush you"?
It wasn't up to GP to denounce the Nicki ad. George isn't smart enough topick up the phone and say something? BS! He got what he wanted because all he cares about is his bankaccount. He doesn't care about the people... By the way why are there still tolls on the thruway I thought George wasgoing to eliminate those for us?
Well well.....We've got the dems with their developer's in their pockets and we have the reps who have their developers in theirs (galesi)
'Let those without sin cast the first stone'.
As far as the ND picture....from what I understand, it was a picture from a while ago. Since GA's family and ND's family know each other OUTSIDE of politics. My take is that ND was a slime for using it and I give GA credit for not engaging with the issue.
Does anyone really think that ND won because of that picture? Gee....I thought it was her sauce recipe....no?
When the INSANE are running the ASYLUM In individuals, insanity is rare; but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule. -- Friedrich Nietzsche
“How fortunate for those in power that people never think.” Adolph Hitler
blaming amedore for implosion of repubs holds no water
typically the sitting chair shoulders some of the blame, not a sitting assemblyman
proxy votes give a committee person extreme power, especially when your proxy votes outnumber the active members, unlike shareholder proxies that are more like an absentee ballot and your vote is based on a percentage of shares that you own, committee proxies give your vote to the will of the holder, so basically proxy holders have multiple votes at their discretion. and your golden boy GP solicited for them....
how did parisi get appointed 30-0 for board and then 30-0 for assembly?
how did frank salamone get endorsed for town board? whats the vote on that move? how can buchananon say that he is one of the most qualified candidate to ever run? why do we hear from MB in parisi assembly article? where is Longo?
I think we are witnessing the final death throws of the rotterdam reps.
GP is a very intelligent and capable person. GP fully understands what he is doing, and understands that in-house party snipping isn't going to win him the primary. His platform consist of calling for term limits. WOW! The State is going bankrupt and term limits are top priority. That platform is an indirect shot at his fellow Reps Farley and Tedisco. He is looking to take them all down if he can. I said it before, this is the mutual assured destruction policy of the the Rotterdam Republicans. The desired end game for GP is doing everything in his power to damage GA in hopes of getting his boy Ang elected.IMO
Hopefully the age of playing politics for sport is over, and we can again have statesmen that serve in the best interest of the state and not just involved in politics for the thrill of winning elections so they can feed their ego.
Face it Peter proxies are the way all these votes go. Why weren't proxies a problem when Amedore used them to get the endorsement to run for Assembly? Because it helped your golden boy? Is that it? Anything that helps Amedore (right/wrong dirty/clean legal/illegal) is fine? But anything, no matter how good, right and pure if it helps someone else is bad? Your underhanded tactics won't work this time.
Buchanan against Rotterdam GOP Assembly nomination
Sean Ahern 05/10/10 Schenectady County Republican Chairman Tom Buchanan said that the vote by the Rotterdam Republican committee to nominate Gerard Parisi as a candidate for New York State Assembly on Thursday, May 6, did not follow town or county committee rules in a press release on Monday, May 10.
Buchanan said that the committee membership of the Rotterdam Republican Committee was not given proper notice that a motion from the floor was going to be made for a candidate and that those who were not in attendance and were in favor of Assemblymen George Amedore, R-Rotterdam, were surprised to hear that their written proxies were voted to support Parisi.
"The Committee Members had no notice that a motion was going to be made from the floor to endorse an Assembly Candidate," said Buchanan in a release. Buchanan is also working to schedule a meeting with the Schenectady County Republican Committee to select an endorsement in the coming week. For the 105th Assembly District, nominees must gain support in both Schenectady and Montgomery Counties.
"While the county committees in Schenectady and Montgomery will ultimately decide who gets the nominations and a town committee endorsement has no real weight, as Schenectady County Chairman, I have an obligation to ensure the integrity of the town committee endorsement process, especially given the irregularities of the town meeting in which county committee members in the town feel they were misled or tricked," said Buchanan.
Parisi said the vote was legitimate and that voters should vote on the candidates for the nomination on the credentials and the job each can do for the district.
"I think the voters should vote on us depending on our credentials and the job we can do," said Parisi. "Ultimately, it comes down to the county meeting, but Rotterdam has already had their vote...I don't think they should discredit a legitimate vote."
Amedore said that the vote in Rotterdam is not a true reflection of his support in the town, and the vote at the committee meeting on May 6 was not a true representation of both candidates.
"They support me and I don't think there is a lack of support for me on the Republican ticket come November," said Amedore.
Yeah...my senses are tingling that you, George, and Buchanan would ignore the will of the Rotterdam Committee. If committee members were upset why haven't any of them spoken out? This seems like a last ditch smoke and mirrors campaign to try to save face/ scare Parisi off. It's true the Rotterdam committee vote doesn't make Parisi the endorsed candidate, but that vote DOES go to the county. And that VOTE does count for Rotterdam's portion of the committee vote. If Buchanan was soooo concerned with personally ensuring the integrity of the town committee's endorsement process why wasn't here there to ensure the integrity of Salamone's vote? Everyone knew that was going to be handled at the meeting? So by ensuring integrity, does Buchanan mean cut a shady deal with Amedore?
OMG I have to wonder if the Parisi appt. was on the up and up? WOW I think George should consider wacking off some patronage plums, $$$$, everything tied to the Schenectady County REPS. I have heard that the NYS Leg thinks the whole Rotterdam Political scene is an embaraassment but this really has to take the cake.
I mean to Primary a sitting popular assemblyman, with the best friend of the potential Democratic candidate??? I am quite sure the Albany Dems would rather deal with George than the back stabbing County Dems who have made an unseemly holy alliance with Gerard Parisi.
Say it ain't so Angelo! Come back please come back!
here is your committee......... these are people making these decisions, do they represent the town openly and fairly?
how many proxies do they hold?
"Members of the Rotterdam Republican Committee are discussing a possible primary challenge to state Assemblyman George Amedore, some saying that he didn’t help the party during a tough election season last fall. Petitions have circulated among town committee members recently calling for the party to conduct a special meeting regarding Amedore’s endorsement. Some committee members who signed the petition are suggesting former committee Chairman Gerard Parisi as possibly better suited for the state Legislature’s 105th Assembly District. “It’s time for some new faces in Albany,” said Mary Barrie, a committee member who made an unsuccessful run for a seat on the Schenectady County Legislature in November. “You have someone who’s willing to run, so let’s give him a try.” Several committee members who signed the petition said they remain rankled by what they perceive as Amedore’s lack of support during heated county and town contests in November. Rotterdam Republicans were beaten in every contested race, leading to a clean sweep of the GOPcontrolled Town Board and the loss of one seat on the county Legislature. Rotterdam committee member Frank Salamone said he signed the petition to determine what options are available for the seat, not as a call to oust Amedore. He said the incumbent hasn’t been as vocal on certain issues as some committee members expected and didn’t come to the local party’s aid in its time of need. “George upset a lot of people,” he said. “He hasn’t really been doing anything for us.” Like Barrie, Salamone said he would support a run by Parisi, who is serving out the year as an appointed Town Board member, the sole Republican on the board. But Salamone reiterated that the drive for a committee meeting was more focused on discussing potential candidates. "
