Glennpeter Jewelers closing Rotterdam mall shop
THE BUSINESS REVIEW (ALBANY)

Glennpeter Jewelers is closing at Rotterdam Square Mall in suburban Schenectady, N.Y., the latest jewelry chain to shut its doors there.
The store is closing May 16. The lease is expiring and there isn’t enough business to justify keeping it open, an employee said.
Zales and Belden Jewelers closed their stores at the mall nearly three years ago. Two other chain jewelry stores remain—Kay and Littman.
Leah Palmer, assistant marketing manager for mall owner Macerich Co. said another chain that sells jewelry will move into the Glennpeter space.
Glennpeter also has stores in Colonie Center, on Central Avenue in Colonie, and in Halfmoon.

I wonder what other jewelry chain store will move into Glennpeter's space? I only go to the rotterdam mall occasionally and it is usually for something specific. It is always DEAD! I don't know how they survive.

I was surprised that in the week prior to Christmas last year that the jewelry stores at Rotterdam Square were empty.
I made a small purchase in mid day on a weekend, and the stores were virtually empty.  The mall, in general, was
not busy.

lol! How about a DSS satellite office-with hot dog vendor? At least then there would be a place to eat.

When McDonald's flees Katie bar the door. Tell us again about "renaissance". Maybe for two blocks Proctor's.

If the DSS moves into the vacant store and another job will be created by Metroplex because another hot dog vendor will have a job.

They're not at Cornell's? How about Bombers?-lol-

Maybe Glennpeter's can open up Downtown. Plenty of empty storefronts on State St from Erie all the way to the bridge.

They can go near the Northeastern Jewelry store downtown that is never open and no one works. How many 100 jobs did the dems create with this closed store?

Great point! This was supposed to create 40 Metrograft jobs. Typical. One guy worked there part time. It was good for gold buy back.

With all the press about SEFCU twice as many jobs left Translation Services on Franklin Street for COHOES because of poor wi-fi service and high taxes. Funny no headlines in the Gazetto. If it's negative just don't print it. Still nothing on the first floor of Clinton Square. The Pizza King had to leave that corner because of all the retail coming in-lol-
