Now santabarbara is suing amedore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, here's the scoop from Rotterdam's (should be) official paper.

Quoted Text
Angelo Santabarbara filed a complaint of unfair campaign practices against George Amedore today, Oct. 8, alleging Amedore violated campaign principles “2” and “4.”

The first allegation made by Santabarbara is Amedore violated the second principle by calling Santabarbara a “lawbreaker” in a newspaper report prior and after the Supreme Court’s decision finding Santabarbara not guilty of any fraudulent practices.

The second allegation is Amedore distributed a press release where he was quoted to have a “dissenting opinion of a court of appeals justice.” where he presented a separate case to use as precendent for making a decision in fraud allegations against Santabarbara.

Fair Campaign Practices for the Capital Region principle 2 states, “The candidate will not engage in, permit, or condone unfair or misleading attacks upon the character of an opponent.” Also, principle 4 states, “The candidate will not use, permit the use of, or condone the use of any campaign material or advertisement that misrepresents, distorts, or otherwise falsifies a fact or the facts regarding either the candidate or an opponent.”

So, what you're saying is that Amedore has a case and it's considered slanderous and liable, but when his opponent, Santabarbara turns around and does the same thing, it's OK?  Just wanted to clarify.  A yes or no answer will suffice, please.  Thanks.

So, please explain this to me, because I must be a little slow on this.  You are stating that Santabarbara is not calling Amedore a lawbreaker. If he's not, then what's he going to court for, since I thought that was aplace that you go to have a decision rendered if someone broke the law.  That is unless they're having a contract nullified, or they're getting divorced.  Those are a couple other things I can think of.  You can mince words all you want, by bringing the case, he's accusing him of exactly that, breaking a law... I guess that is unless you're a Democrat.

calling Santabarbara a “lawbreaker” i

Well DUH.....Santabarbara admitted to breaking a campaign law by obtaining MANY fraudulent signatures all in the name of 'not knowing what town he was in'.

All the judge did was not throw out the entire petition!!! But the signatures were fraudulently obtained and the santabarbara's admitted to it!

This appears to be a last ditch effort by Sanatabarbara and crew to try to discredit Amedore cause that's apparently all Santabarbara's got. IMHO

Listen, you guys are pulling straws, Amedore also had many invalid petitions too.. He had many duplicate signatures as well..
Amedore verbally in a issued statement, called Angelo a "LAWBREAKER".. Not anyone else's fault but his own... But wait King George and his cronies, all have their own set of rules, and laws.. Everyone that is involved in politics should know the ethics and what should be said and not said..

And everyone in politics should know how to collect signatures 'in their presumed' district. And perhaps they should know what towns they will respectfully be representing if elected.

It appears that santabarbara had better, smarter, more efficient campaign support when he was a con!!! Perhaps Santabarba is using the same campaign people as Savage, since her Miracle tv add flopped.

Both of them are out there on a wing and a prayer with no clear direction or platform or accomplished history except to bash the other opponent!

The way I read it, the Santabarbara's admitted, on the stand of receiving fraudulent signatures from counties they 'thought' they would be representing! They clearly did break a campaign law. IMHO

You can sue a person for civil damages -- such as for libel.. which doesn't necessarily mean that a criminal law has been
violated.

There is a huge difference between incidental duplicates, a common occurrence, and intentionally altering addresses to coincide
with the political subdivision. Unfortunately, not everyone remembers whether they already signed a certain petition or for whom if
they do...and those who do remember previously signing for the opponent are signatures typically not taken...as the witness knows
it will be a later dated duplicate and the signature will not count toward the required number of signatures (although I know of some
who take them anyway and backdate them, which of course under those circumstances is fraudulent).

But if there is one thing petition signers always know, and never forget...it is where they live....and any intentional alteration to
their residence address for the purpose of creating signer eligibility is fraud...despite Angelo's claim that he "thought" the signers'
addresses were somewhere other than where the signers stated...simply to justify altering their addresses because they were not
in the AD.

Angelo and his wife altered the addresses by their own admission...claiming they "thought" the signers' towns or cities were in
counties included in the AD. There's no way they truly believed the signers did not know their own address, as they implied
when attempting to justify the alterations.
