The treatment Kevin March was getting from your alter ego was a little too much. That guy never hurt anyone, and is a tireless advocate for the taxpayers with no gain for himself. he doesn't deserve to get bashed and called names. Bash anyone else IN politics, but leave him alone, he is not and never was an elected official or candidate.

Thanks for the defense, but I think I handled myself rather well.  Also, since I was in grade school, I have been dealing with people who could only at best attack a person because they didn't like them for some reason, in this case, for the fact that I could substantiate my points, a detail they were sorely lacking at.

As far as the fact that I have never been an elected official or candidate, there just may be a time in the near future where that is not true.  I AM getting sick and tired of things, and I'm getting tired of the chosen few not listening.

I must really say that while the attacks just kept coming from Amsterlight, I was actually starting to enjoy it, you know, they way you get someone face to face that can't substantiate their arguments, they begin to stutter.  In this case, it was to just attack me.  It's all good.

I would like for the record to show that I did not request the removal of the poster formerly known as Amsterlight, nor did I request the closure or removal of any of the topics nor the remarks.  While I did not exactly enjoy them, it was free speech and they were free to say it.  Also, I agree that people should be able to speak about the issues that they have with the elected, no matter what party they represent or what their views are.  That is what this great federation is built on.  I'm not saying everything said is right, but I am saying that everyone has a right to say what they want.

Greenlantern, I'm sure that if you read this entire thread, you will get everything that was said on both sides of this conversation.  The person who was previously posting all the information on the other threads that are no longer around was already gracious enough to post the same thing on each thread that had Mr. Amedore's name on it, so I'd bet that it's in here already.

The answer is that Mr. Amedore has the same Freedom of Religion that every other American has.

I am not planning on voting for Mr. Amedore .. nothing personal .. he has been a good friend and neighborto our family for many years.    But I find it despicable that his political opponents would make his
religious beliefs and the college that he attended a political issue.

Shame on you.

Because it's about as relevant as asking what candidate's family running for the 105th was selling illegal fireworks out of their garage 20 years ago? Does it really matter?  It's a non-issue and irrelevant to the election.

AMEDORE GAINS ENDORSEMENT FROM UNSHACKLE UPSTATE
One of only seven Assembly legislators to receive acknowledgement

Assemblyman George Amedore (R,C,I-Rotterdam) today received the endorsement from Unshackle Upstate, a bipartisan coalition of over 80 business and trade organizations representing upwards of 70,000 companies, employing more than 1.5 million people and dedicated to changing the way New York State government treats taxpayers and private sector businesses.

"When it comes to fighting for the taxpayers and job creators of the 105th Assembly District, Unshackle Upstate endorses Assemblyman George Amedore for reelection," said Brian Sampson, Executive Director of Unshackle Upstate. "In the Capitol, George Amedore has consistently voted against tax and spending increases and has sponsored numerous bills that would remove onerous labor mandates, making New York State more business friendly. We strongly support Assemblyman Amedore for another term."

Unshackle Upstate has been identifying incumbents that deserve to be voted out of office as well as supporting candidates that deserve the opportunity to represent taxpayers in Albany. Out of the 212 legislative seats, Unshackle Upstate endorsed only 24 – a mix of both incumbents and candidates.

“As a businessman and taxpayer, I know how frustrating it is for businesses to survive in this state,” said Amedore.  For far too long, the leadership and entrenched politicians in Albany have treated our business community like villains, not valued job creators.  We need to get government off our backs and out of our pockets; I will continue that fight for businesses and taxpayers.”

In making their endorsements this year, Sampson said that Unshackle Upstate focused on "finding the best people possible to help us give Upstate a greater voice in fixing the fiscal issues New York faces."

Not only should he not be spending the $9500, but he should not be pushing through such bills as the increase in the allowance for bonding for the Schenectady Metroplex, which is a total failure in adding jobs and reducing the tax rate for the residents.
