I think 4 years and i can move west without paying back the first time home buyers credit.. lol..

You either stay and try to 'fix it' or you run for the hills and don't look back!! Those are the only two choices! Pick your poison!

I actually enjoy it here so far.. but.. i still feel too close to the city and the city's problems.. For example, i saw two needles in the Stewarts parking lot on hamburg two nights ago.  My wife said "most likely a diabetic" and we shared that uncomfortable "I'm raising a child here, and you damn well know it's not from a diabetic" laugh.  Then again our neighborhood is beautiful, so *shrugs*

Bumbler--first I NEVER give ANYTHING UP FOR LENT.  So not sure who you think I am.  I will, however, be going to a seder if that helps you expand your small mind.  Not everyone in Rotterdam is a Christian.

As for GA's statement "nobody called me to help."  If you Reps, and I loosely call you Reps, because you change like the wind, can't figure that statement out and its implication you deserve what you get.  The Dems will trounce GP so I hope he gets it.

Just wondering...which is more, the first time buyers credit or the additional amount that you will pay through the 4 years of taxes?  I lean towards thinking the latter.

When i say west i'm talking west Rotterdam or duanesburg .. cobleskill the farthest... so unless it's Cobleskill, the former.  I have too much family in this area i can't go out of state .  They are worth paying to live near.

The REPS lose every town and County race. First they blame Mertz and the NNTP. Then they blame the media and bloggers. Then they blame Eunice. Now they are blaming George Amedore?

Members of the Rotterdam Republican Committee are discussing a possible primary challenge to state Assemblyman George Amedore, some saying that he didn’t help the party during a tough election season last fall.

They are kidding here, right? Can the rep party 'at least' give particulars on exactly how GP would be better than GA? Not how ineffective GA is.....but how effective GP will be.

Do they really think that if GA were a part of rotterdam's campaign, it would have made a difference? How could 'anyone' make that 'insightful' prediction?

I don't speak for the Rep party - but I know parisi is a CPA and an attorney.  He's a smart guy, and he's a small business owner.  All these are qualities that I look for in my legislators.  Also, if you take a look at what he's doing on the town board, he's not only a champion for taxpayers but also appropriately explains his positions using the rule of law.

He's OK in my book!

TBV,

What is the basis for concluding that Parisi is a "champion for taxpayers"?  What has he done in
the two months since he appointed himself to the Town Board to substantiate that assertion?

He has spoken out against hiring out of area residents, which benefits taxpayers in our town.  He brought forth allegations against Eunice Esposito, the likes of which allowed someone who wasn't necessarily supposed to receive taxpayer money to receive it.  While everyone else was afraid of a political institution, Gerard brought that forth.  If they don't deserve the exemption, then they are draining money from the town, school, county and state.  We the people are picking up that burden.

So yes, champion for the taxpayers.

In the meetings i've watched, he's the only one who speaks up, instead of agreeing with everything, and the one dude gets pissed off at him when he does (garadelli?).  Our town board is a bunch of clowns, it's a funny show to watch.

I say bullsh*t to this

I would love to know how much taxpayer money this champion of the people billed for while town attorney? golub attorney? REMS attorney?  i dont see him as an independent smart businessman rather someone that used his connections to further his own personal agenda.

I keep hearing this talk that GP appointed himself to the Board, I'm confused. Didn't the town board members vote GP in? From what I heard, individuals were invited to interview, then Buchanan brought GP's name up. I heard GP was originally in favor of another candidate until the town board members asked GP if he'd be willing to serve.

Let's see the state and federal governments are full of lawyers who make the laws we have to live by including the taxes we pay and just look at the wonderful shape the state and federal governments are in. How's having all the lawyers in congress working out for you.
