Stimulus hasn’t worked as advertised on jobs

President Obama today declared that the $787 million stimulus bill has created or saved 2 million jobs. Hogwash. The official White House Web site that tracks data from stimulus money recipients shows no more than 595,000 jobs “saved or created.”
Polls show that only 6 percent of American people believe that the stimulus bill is working (roughly the same percentage of people who believe that Elvis is still alive). Our politicians must think that we are not very well informed, otherwise they would not make such foolish and misleading statements.
They do this to protect their jobs. New York has the unfortunate distinction of continually re-electing Sen. Chuck Schumer, the least effective member of Congress, according to Gov-Track. A stunning 89 percent of bills he introduces never become law. But it is great political theater for Chuck to get up in front of the camera and say he is “fighting for you” — while knowing there isn’t a chance his bills will ever pass. I’m personally embarrassed, but I am very grateful that I do not live in California, home of Princess [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi, who over the past two years has spent over $2 million to have the Air Force shuttle her across country repeatedly in Gulfstream executive jets at taxpayer expense.
By the White House’s own data, over $287,000 has been spent for each job they claim to have created/saved. The report issued by the Council of Economic Advisors in May 2009 estimated that it would cost $92,000 for each jobyear created. Not only did we spend three times their official estimate, the estimate itself is over two times the average wage paid in the private sector!
The government cannot create private-sector jobs. It is time to elect representatives who will drastically reduce the size and reach of the federal government, to give back our freedom to decide locally what is right, and do so as their first and only priority, because the future that our children and grandchildren inherit will depend on it.

The government should not be in the jobs business......after Ceaser was murdered on the senate floor, his successor opened the graineries to the public to purchase votes and make it 'seem' as if it was all
alright.....it wasn't.........
