Again, how many licensed assessors are in the town?  I don't know the answer, but I would venture to say few to none.  These are professional, licensed positions.  Not secretaries.

Hey TBV--stop knocking secretaries.  I know quite a few that could kick most of our collective a$$e$$ to the curb.

Licensend ASSessor!!!!

Why cant this town ask the top three realtors in this town to go around and assess every home.  Wouldnt they have better ideas of real property values at a given time and repeat every five years.  Instead of some guy sitting in an office using google maps to look at properties. (I am just guessing and dont really know how surprise does his job - but i like google maps - it makes me feel like i am flying)

Anybody else get the mailer during last election with the image of Del Gallos home and assessed value?  must have been a pricey mailer....

When was the last time any of us remember when a town supervisor needed a secretary 'smarter' and with more 'qualifications' than he?

A normal secretary that could 'normally' handle this position, clearly couldn't cut it. Think about it.....our supervisor has difficulty reading and writing let alone understanding legal matters of the town and sending and receiving emails.

Remember the old riddle...how many people does it take to screw in a light bulb? Well in rotterdam's case.....how much money will it cost the taxpayers and how many people does it take to run the supervisor's position?

I find it hard to believe that the town clerk of the past multiple decades cant fill out grant applications by now and doesnt have a roster of employees on the town payroll.  this is simply a case of government inefficiency.  clean house and everyone has to learn everything all over again, who suffers the taxpayers.  Plans should be in place and guidelines should be set so that government jobs are virtually turn key.  step in and get to work.  Only in Rotterdam is there an issue even with office furniture!!!!!!!!     Did ST leave his chair for FDG -

Eunice? bahahahah  She so useless, it's not even funny.  She can barely run her own office! I've heard of her losing marriage licenses and even giving out handicap tags to buddies of hers without cause!  She can't hear, for god's sakes, and requires everything to be repeated by the town council during a meeting.

She is a net drag on this town.  Being re-elected doesn't change that!

I know of one "certified" assessor who the town invested time and money into only to be put by the curb as you say.  I guarentee you this......he/she lives in the town and would be a nice addition to the beleagured town hall.  I think most people in town would agree that Mr Surprise should be kicked to the curb.

So kick him! Unless he hasn't done anything wrong, at which point the only reason people would want to kick him is because of personal issues...with assessments, perhaps?  Like Frannie's assessment, perhaps?  Or maybe John Mallozzi's?  Or Bobby Mallozzi's? Or Joe Mallozzi's? Or Christine Mallozzi's?  The list goes on!

I heard a nice little rumor this morning that there's some "spot" assessments and rezoning coming up on certain properties.  Something to do with potential large box retailers looking to come back in the area.
